I love spyderco because in my opinion, they offer a helluva lot of blade for the money. and the forums because they generate alot of user feedback and help in the development and ideas for new knives.

sharpening the knife will only further harden it the same way grinding it does, its the same thing only much less metal is coming off at one time. right?
