Cpm s30v vs. Vg10

I am curious...both steels get such great reviews, based on the heat treatment etc...that Spyderco uses on both steels, how far behind S30V is VG10 in overall performance etc...?

I would DEFINATELY be on board for a fixed blade Pikal design, I have some formal training under my belt (meaning a little) but have become increasingly ...

Well, it looks like I may have to pick one up. It does look to fit a wide range of hand sizes.

The Street Beat and large hands??

I am very interested in the Perrin SB, but have larger hands, those of you with that same quality and have handled one, do you absolutely engulf the knife...or is it still very comfortable?

I have recently acquired a couple Spyderco P'Kal's and absolutely love the design and the overall quality (and hope to start training in Shivwork method soon). I would love to see some sort of EDC fixed blade Shivworks design...as I was actually thinking about having a custom done...but, the long ...

Great to hear you like your new knife :D

quick question, is the caged ball lock still inside those plastic pieces or are they some sort of metal now?

i ask because i saw on the spydie catalog and the grips for the caged ball lock seem to be different than the usual plastic ones that these used ...

Got my P'Kal today

Took the plunge and laid down $170.00 for a NIB P'Kal, and must say that I absolutely love this knife. I have larger than average hands and find that the handle is so well designed and has the two finger cutouts in the right places, that reverse grip both edge in & out feel great, I fooled around ...

P'Kal questions?

I am very tempted to pick up a P'Kal, and am becoming very interested in the style that goes along with it (Shivworks). One point of interest is the Ball Bearing lock...it seems to work like a BM Axis lock, are the two similar in strength? I have larger than average hands, has anyone with large ...

To add...in terms of size/model, looking heavily at it being a Military or Police3.

SE vs PE for all does one...

An EDC knife, for utility, self defense, etc...which would edge style (Spyderedge or plain edge) would you guys recommend...a true one does all, or atleast as close as we can come to that.

Thanks for all the replies. A few different perspectives. I will definately be picking up a G10 version when I can pick one up...and wont worry about it being a Liner Lock...I trust Spyderco.

I also, would like to try one of the new fluted TI versions.

TI Military vs. G10

I purchased two Titanium Military's at the very beginning of this year, and one of them has been my EDC since then and I really like that knife.

One reason I really like it, is its lock. The Reeve influenced frame lock is probably one of the strongest locks out there...especially when your handle ...
