I have both and voted for the Southard. It has a more robust feel in hand, and, personally, I love the blade shape. Like has been asserted earlier, , the Domino seems more suited to thin slicing whereas the Southard seems like it can stand up to more. As for the steel, I like both, but 204 has becom...

I kind of like the idea, but doubt it would ever happen. I'd say people should take a look at Zero Tolerance's bayonet before they just turn up their noses at the idea. It's a slick looking knife that I think very effectively bridged the gap between a 'traditional' bayonet and a truly functional fie...

+1 on the EdgePro, the fundamental design and numerous aftermarket stones available make it a truly remarkable system that will take most anyone's edges to a whole other level. However, for the most bang for the buck, a Sharpmaker (with diamond rods) just can't be beat. All that said, I think the Sh...

You could cant the edge toward the stone over that section like you mentioned, but consistency might be a bit difficult to achieve. Sounds like the blade was left a little thicker behind the edge in that spot, if only a little bit. If you have the diamond rods you could level this without much diffi...

I got one (Large Insingo, plain handle) because the Sebenza is sort of a benchmark in folding knife quality. When I finally got it I was very much impressed with the reputed quality that preceded it. However, being accustomed to higher end Spydercos I must say it's not like the Sebenza is head and s...

Good insights Cliff. But this brings up a thought. Why does there seem to be, in the custom knife-making world, a sense of elitism inherent to those who forge their blades rather than use stock removal? I have done both, and can appreciate equally the results of both a forged blade and one made via ...

I have both, and like others have said, , you kind of can't go wrong either way but it's still an apples vs oranges kind of issue since they are so different. Personally, I like the Southard better, and believe it to be the finest knife Spyderco has ever produced. 204 steel is freaken awesome in a b...
