That is very cool. Kudos to you for having the guts to experiment with your knife. I'm always too afraid I will mess something up. I have found that if you do modify you knife you will love it even more and be more comfortable carrying and using it. Try a (simple) mod on a knife thats not too expen...

3 suggestions-
CC has the new titanium widgy bar and the ti peanut lighter
Tec accessories has the ti inchworm or centipede, basically a titanium rod with inch (or centimeter) markings.
The Exotac nano striker comes in titanium (a keychain firestarter)

Alot of times the problem with a gritty opening on a liner lock is that the ball detent track i dirty. I'd try putting a little chapstick or something on the ball and see how that works.

If it isnt fake, i'd better save my pennies cause i wanted a spyderco bali for a while now. I would prefer a trainer, but i can tape the edge.

My older Salt 1 does not have that "feature". My guess would be that this was done to remove the sharp-ish edges that are of little benefit to the this user. Looks like it is primarily in the area farthest from the pivot? I generally get some decent pressure against my ring finger and pin...

Least threatening designs?

What do you guys think are the most non knife people friendly blades that spyderco makes? obviously anything small, not pointy, and without serrations is going to be the best bet.

Salt 1 question

On my new salt 1 (torx pivot model) the very top insides of the handle sides seems like it was shaved down with razor blade. Is this formed during molding? Is it something they do at the factory? The edge is uneven but it doesn't affect anything at all. Any answers?

I think I heard that somewhere. I have a salt 1 coming in the mail and i will check it out when it comes, but i think they leave them out to make the knife simpler to clean.

I had one I modified to shoot just as hard as my paintball gun. It was the pump up kind, not one of the wimpy spring ones. Sadly a basketball was thrown at it and the barrel broke off and shattered the airtank.

My knives go in a toolbox with multiple sections and over time i collect those little silica packets and place them in there, to prevent any rust.

I just ordered a Salt 1 from there and did not realize it was backordered, but I called them and they said they were expecting a load of them to come on monday, and it would ship then. I will post an update when the knife comes.

you could buy a suspension clip like this http://www.tecaccessories.com/products/ ... .php?II=27
and attach it to your ladybug, and not have to modify it at all.
