Customer feedback, assuming its welcome.
Part of what I love about this company so much, aside from its products being better than anything else I've yet found, is that I really feel like our feedback is appreciated and incorporated into future products. To that end as a user I feel responsible to provide feedback. Heres what I've got: 1) ...

Oh whoops. Sorry guys. I thought you were saying you should start with BENCHSTONES. We are in complete agreement here. Trying to make two surfaces meet at an edge on a strop would take ages, although I've never bothered to try it actually. I just like the results I get from sharpening start to finis...

I'm not sure I hold to the above logic per se. You can definitely get better results from starting with benchstones, but theres nothing stopping you from stropping an edge straight off a sharpmaker. That said doing so, in my experience, takes a LOT longer to get decent results and you have less cont...

My problem with the sharpmaker has always been that it leaves a tiny wire edge. You can push it back and forth, and if you're good even hold it centered, but either way its still there and its still soft and isn't great for edge retention. After using the sharpmaker I always have to strop the edges ...

I'd like to see some demonstrations of efficacy before I jumped on board with a design idea like that. Frankly I like the strength, light weight, and texture of the composites and you aren't going to convince me to pay more for a metal version unless it actually DOES significantly increases lock str...

Unfortunately the DLC coating with not protect the blade from corrosion at all. Really? Thats news to me. The literature I've seen suggests otherwise. Just as one example: http://www.archivesmse.org/vol28_5/2856.pdf If someone has something more conclusive please by all means offer it up, but my un...

my black para2 didn't come with that lighter color coating. That said I buy knives to use them, not to keep in a safe or complain about them being pretty, so I want the DLC to protect the blade from corrosion mostly. While it is lighter, its not exactly super bright now is it? As long as the hardnes...

I've had the torsion bars in my kershaws break after repeated openings and closings. I've never had a spyderhole break yet. No matter how many times I've opened them I've broken torsion bars too..... its annoying, but the flipper and knife's function always remain. I prefer JYDII style flippers to ...

Spyderco Fixed Blade Suggestion
I realize that threads asking for something from spyderco are a dime a dozen, so this is more a thread about suggestions and "public reaction" than me saying "I want it now." Ok here is my thinking for the product: It is my understanding that spyderco has difficulty selling their...

Can I just say it sounds like the spring which drives the lockback may have shifted? Frankly I am with the Deacon (among others) here in not expecting a knife to necessarily survive a fall onto tile unscathed. Its just such incredibly hard stuff...... take a moment and think about the impulse force ...

I'm not entirely comfortable discussing another brand in depth on the spyderco forum as I think its disrespectful. That said I own several members of the ZT line. If hard use/abuse is a character trait you are interested in the 0300, 0301, 0302, and 0303 are all excellent choices. Again though they ...

There seem to be a lot of questions concerning why some people feel so revolted by strider as a company, while others love them. If you really want to understand what is behind all this you need to see both sides. USN (usual suspects knife forum) is strider's home forum, and nowhere else on the inte...

I'm not sure about Mick Strider and his questionable past. I think questionable is a bit too polite a term to describe the strider background. Count me out. I buy spydies because the company is founded by a man of impeccable integrity. The strider pedigree is something I have deliberately avoided a...

Now I had another thought about this. I've always wanted the security of a Ti framelock on a millie, but thought the full Ti millies look too plain. There are tasty looking limited runs which came with Ti framelocks and G10 scales, but so far no production version of a knife like that. I was wonderi...

Given how soon we are supposed to be getting this knife I'm surprised at how hush hush spyderco has kept this one. So far as I am aware that is the only public appearance of that knife, and we have no details on it at all. Like the OP I'm also a bit surprised it took everyone on this forum so long t...
