Hi everyone. I just snagged a used D2 for what I'm pretty sure was a good price, but it is missing one pocket clip screw. Does anyone know where I might be able to get another one? I'm fine with switching to Torx, but I need something with the right thread size, and the D4 screws don't fit. Thanks!

Factory edge is 15 degrees per side for Spyderco's. Edge geometry matters, too, though. If your D4 is the saber grind and not the FFG, then the Persistence is the only FFG grind in your list, which could account for why it slices better.

Pretty much anything, but my Phoenix seems particularly suited for EDC because of the compact size and smooth handles that don't rip up pockets.

To be fair to himself, the original poster should ask this question via a Kershaw forum as well. I don't think there is one... Kershaw is actually my favorite brand. But between those two, I'd go with the Manix 2. The Kershaw has better steel and is easier to carry, but you get a lot for your money...

Spyderco doesn't make very many stainless steel handled knives, and the ones they do make are lockbacks. You can get super smooth opening, but not with all of your criteria.

If you really want cheap carbon fiber, the Sanrenmu 738 has carbon fiber and is really cheap. Spydercos will cost more, though.

Little details like that matter to me. I really like the way the Taiwanese Spydies have that etched feel instead of looking like they're just printed on. They're much darker, too.

Edge retention and toughness are fantastic. It also seems to resist rust, but will patina fairly easily.

I think you've been looking at the wrong $100-$150 folders. Have you tried any of Spyderco's Taichung knives? They're made in Taiwan, so they're cheaper than they would be if they were made in the U.S., but fit and finish beats pretty much all other production knives. I think this is exactly what yo...

Not certain about the Bradley (though I'm pretty sure it's one of the stouter linerlocks) but the Manix 2 uses the CBBL which is known to be rather stout. I believe they qualify as MBC rated generally.
