I never use WD40 on knives or firearms. I use Break Free as a protective lubricant. With my new spydercos I did not use anything -just wiped off fingerprints with a soft dry cloth and stored them in a gun safe. Safe has dessicants and a "golden rod" for moisture control. After several years they ...

I am a long term accumulator. I have slowly come to realize that I will not be a true Spyderco collector but I have over a dozen that find their way into my daily rotation. I will also admit that a few Benchmades (can I say that here)and Customs have found their way into the mix. Love the axis lock ...

laser engraved spydercos
I have a couple of the "Glasshart" model spydercos that were laser engraved by the factory and sold by linda to forum members. I am thinking of selling them and wonder if they have any value on ebay higher than the MSRP for SS Spydercos. I am not offering to sell these just curious as to if these ...

Was the Forum Vesuvius the "root beer" you refer to. I have one in the safe and I recall it being a very deep wine (burgundy) color. I also have a FRN como edge that I have used for my rough "yard" knife for years and the ergonomics are excellent. I just finished sharpening it and although it has ...

The sharpmaker is one of the easiest methods to learn and set-up. I haven't used other methods since I have gotten proficient with the Sharpmaker and have used it on everything from the smallest knives to a large machete. The key with any sharpening task is to sharpen a knife before it gets dull ...

Johnfjensen.com has pink jesters and a quick search of current ebay also showed one (Jester). The pink delicas are getting harder to find. I got the Jester last year for my daughters and they love them. The jester is a small knife that cuts big. I have one on a keychain and use it all the time. Good ...

Temerance?
While browsing the discontinued items @ the SFO I came across the Temperance Black Blade (VG-10). This looks like a good all around medium size fixed blade knife.

Yellow Pacific Salt
Can someone tell me a little more about the steel on this knife. I think I need one and it looks like a great durable knife for field use. My main concerns are edge holding quality, ease of sharpening, etc. as the steel compares to some of my favorites like VG 10, 154 cm (benchmade), AUS 34. By the ...

OK-You guys have made me a believer. I have had one of these gray Jr.s in the safe for a long time and have never used it but now I think I better give it a try as an EDC. That means I think I need another. I see that there are still some on ebay. Can anybody give me any insight as to anywhere else ...

I have both of those in SS and find them heavy in the pocket for everyday carry. Both fine knives but I would go with the FRN handle Delica. Also take a look at the Native. I have it in both plastic and SS. I really like the fell of it and the FRN is the one I usually grab. The blade is thicker than ...
