Thanks guys, I found myself not being a fan of serrations and since the blade had already been "re-tipped" I figured, what the heck... I really like to EDC this blade now. I'm thinking of either black canvas Micarta or an OD Green g-10 for scales?

A big +1 on the sharpie trick. I would also suggest getting a 10x loupe. Sometimes you think you are getting all of the sharpie but there is still some there at the very leading edge. If there is ANY sharpie visible at the edge, even a faint hint if it you are not getting it as sharp as you can ...

The H.E.S.T. 2.0 is a beast of a knife and all of it packed in a 3" blade. The bottle opener acts great as a wave function as well. Customer service is absolutely spot on! I've had zero problems with my 2.0
