Thanks for the giveaway!

My primary cutting tasks are cardboard boxes, zip ties, and opening clamshells. Spyderco's full flat grind makes slicing so much easier.

I visited the SFO after the new year. They had the knives displayed and didn't ask me not to talk about them. I am pretty happy with my kitchen knives so I didn't really inspect them all that well. They had regular steel (vg-10?) and damascus steel. There was an 8" to 10" chef's knife (gyu...

My first Spyderco was a Waved Delica 4. My latest Spyderco is the Chokwe and I love it! I was surprised to find that my passion for Spyderco's would lead me to give most of mine away as gifts. I have given away 8 knives to my friends and successfully converted 3 women and 5 men into edc knife people.

My Manix XHP has a small rust spot where it says "Golden" on the blade. I live in Denver but never wore it out in the snow. I haven't really used it much since I got it. I am wondering if I left the blade wet after I sharpened it with the edge-pro. Either way, it is by far my favorite stee...

Chokwe or Caly 3.5 Super Blue?

Hello everyone! I had been saving up all year for the Spyderco factory seconds sale but alas it is not going to happen this year. Instead, I will buy myself a nice new folder. I can't seem to decide between the Chokwe and the Caly super blue. I handled the Chokwe at the SFO and it was butter smooth....

I recommend reading a little on knifeforums. There are basically 2 styles of knife, German or Japanese. German knives tend to be thick and the steel is softer. Japanese knives tend to be thin and hard. I bought a Tojiro DP and couldn't be happier.

Great chioces! One thing I have to warn you about - The manix's ball lock is much harder to use one handed than the axis lock. I expected to be able to close it one handed but most of the time I can't. Otherwise, it is an absolute beast of a knife!!!

What about the duck foot sharpener? It works like a one sided sharpmaker at a 20 degree angle. http://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=253

Back on topic - I would love to see a S90V knife that isn't the military. Maybe something with a smaller blade to keep costs down? Also, while I like the military, it is just too big. and sometimes illegal to EDC. The Manix seems like a good choice.
