Salt in serrated, ZDP-189 in plain.

I have the PE model, and I like it well enough... except for the sheath problem already mentioned. The sheath is FRN, and it dulls the knife edge from contact. If you're getting one for the tackle box, you could get a small pocket stone to with it. I've seen Spyderco gray stones for like $6 at Cutle...

I think the Cricket would probably work. It's got the tiny bill, but the overall shape doesn't look unfriendly.

Of course, the trainer models would probably work, too. :)

An EMT that I talked to only used trauma shears, because he didn't need to worry about decontaminating them if they got nasty. He just threw them away and got a new pair from stock.

It wouldn't be too difficult to round it off.

I use a yellow PE Aqua Salt, but in retrospect, wish I had bought the serrated version for times when I need a little more cutting power.

If it's just one, I'd pick the yellow serrated Aqua Salt. PE would be easier to sharpen, but I'd like the serrations in case I needed to saw through something.

The Persian 2 in G-10 meets your specs.

JaM, you can have the blade re-ground on a stainless Delica.

Also, if your into byrd knives, the Meadowlark 2 SS has an FFG blade.

Unless you're getting ready for a trip overseas in the near future, I wouldn't buy a knife based on "someday". What you buy now may not be acceptable wherever you go in the future.
