There is a fake Civilian that you can buy but the fit and finish doesnt look like they tried very hard even the handle shape up near where it meets the blade seems off to me. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-shipping-Spyderco-C12GS-Civilian-Folding-Knife-4-1-8-VG10-Serrated-Blade-G10-Handles/1534...

That story makes me wanna remember to carry (or put in a carry on bag) enough black duct tape to help stash/secure a knife somewhere good in an airport just in case. Perhaps in a stationary trashcan that just the bag get's replaced.. Or the planter idea was pretty good.

Resilience or Manix XL (for twice the price) all the way. Both have those strong *** steel liners and a nice big flat ground blade to get whatever job done. Military if lightweight is a serious factor. I don't care for the Superleaf myself, its got so much potential (I dig the steel, handle material...

The tenacious is actually made in China. So it may just be sneaking out the back door and cutting Spyderco out on their share... Or they might be some kinda unmarked blemished factory reject type thing just speculation. Probably totally fake like all the rest though those others using american steel...

Good deal, that's promising, might have to give em a call an feel em out a little. Your far from a brand new member too, so at least your not a shill lol. If I do end up going through with the purchase I'll update. If anyone else has any experiences please chime in.

This is what I was thinking, you get a bit more blade and what I consider a lot more ergonomics. (But Im a stretch fan, own about 4 now).

I didn't see an address, but if that's true then that's a great point. Probably not stocking and floating 10's of thousands of dollars in inventory out of your garage. Especially not without a well known well established web presence to back it up.

Another silly question. Is it odd and suspect for a hard to find knifes stock level to increase by one in the last couple days.

Anyone delt with "hand-tools.com" Before?

Heard of em? Bought from em? Legit? Good/Bad? I see good and bad reviews but not too many of either. Site looks a little sketchy but doesn't stop the curiosity. Always on the lookout for a good vendor. If this belongs in off-topic I'm sorry in advance they do sell a large selection of Spyderco knive...

Im not sure how I got on their email list, but Ive been getting updates about their products for a little while. Wouldnt mind trying them out especially with the materials they use... But god knows I don't get out in the woods enough to need another fixed blade.

Aww that makes me sad. I want more real Ti military's in the world not fakes. That being said the "U.S.A.Earth" instead of "U.S.A. Earth" Jumps out at me as well as the SS lockbar insert screws seem to really protrude inside the handle. Wow looking at eBay though they all look al...

I left comments on each when I voted. But I agree a lot with whats said here, the ones with people on the cover pigeonhole the ideas of what a zombie looks like, and unfortunately it looks like a mugger is killing George Washington the zombie. Still love the toxic green and red one. Love the Zombie ...

I love the design and materials, but seeing one next to a sage is the only reason I don't own one yet. It looks mighty small, like dragonfly length just wider.. I really wanna handle one but the pics I saw make me long for a Techno XL to wrap my catchers gloves around.

I always think of a burr and sort of way to check your work (should probably clarify and say a burr you can see or feel). But its not the only way by any means. If you know what your doing, know your reaching the edge, know your getting an even bevel an scratch pattern at the current grit, reaching ...

Also While Im looking: http://www.amazon.com/Spyderco-Stretch-British-ZDP-189-PlainEdge/dp/B004VS2LUO/ Less than $95 for a ZDP Stretch in BRG-FRN is the best price Ive personally seen, even if its only about $5-$15 less than usual. Haven't seen the Stretch version (an I really love the stretch) but I gotta agree these tend to fall soft of what I'd imagine. I'd call Spyderco designs modern and the bolsters bone and damascus tend to come out like super fancy old timer knives (I guess thats what they are goin for) rather than pus...
