These gravity laws scare the **** out of me. With freshly oiled pivots I can open almost every one of my Spyders with no blade contact and a quick wrist flick pretty easily. Although this isn't the force of gravity alone, and these knives weren't designed to be opened through inertia, most of these ...

Go after the Police (longer than the Military) or Chinook 3 (slightly shorter and heavier). If you want the Chinook grab it quick because it's being discontinued.

Same problem with the website here. It works fine in Firefox and won't connect in Chrome. That's a very odd problem.

Welcome Tom

The thumb stud is probably the single most deterring factor that keeps me away from bm folders. Holes are mandatory for me.
There are tons of other flat grinds out now and ready to be snatched up as well.

Personally I would first choose between carbon fiber and G10 based one what I intended to use the knife for. If it's in a more casual setting I'd go with the cf because it typically looks much nicer. If I planned on using the knife for work, or brutalizing it in some other way, I'd go with G10 ...

154CM is a slightly softer stainless steel. Some say it's comparable to VG-10, others say it's a little softer still. I personally doesn't have enough experience with it to say exactly. S90V is much harder, though still slightly less so than something like ZDP. The Carpenter steel is very similar to ...

How about a fire engine (brightest possible) red handle? I like red. I even commented to my wife in a resturant once how beautiful a woman's red hair was who was sitting at another table. Not my most intelligent moment.

I'd bet that the different color handle trend will keep growing, but I ...

After carrying this all day today I like it even more. This will quickly become my favorite knife I think. People are saying it should be lighter but I like the weight. Gives it a good balanced feel. Wouldn't want it lighter.

I couldn't agree with you more. 5oz. does not a heavy knife make. The ...

While there's a lot out there that I really like there are only three that easily stand head and shoulders above everything else for me. Those are the Zowada, PPT, and Military. I love almost everything about these knives from the one-handed liner locks (save the lockbacks for brick breaking folders ...

Combo Edge Version 2

One problem I've always had while working with combo edge knives is the top serration and its transition on to the plain edge. From my experience 75% of the time it doesn't make a big difference which edge you're using to cut something, so naturally you would use the entire length of the blade to ...

Go with ZDP for longer edge retention, VG for easier sharpening. Go with the Delica if you're living in or around a city, Stretch or Endura if you live in out in the country/have a specific reason for needing a longer blade.

I went on a fishing trip this morning and cut a bunch of line. After using garlic salmon eggs as trout bait and cutting around baited hooks one of my dogs seemed to think my Millie is a chew toy. The G10 held up much better than expected through that test.

I'd also like to know more about this show from someone who's attended before. There doesn't seem to be too much information out there, but the show does seem to consist of primarily custom makers. It would only be about a 40 minute drive for me so I might stop by just to check it out.

The S30V models can go months without being sharpened with daily use.

This is absolutely true. I punish both S30V and VG-10 blades daily and I'm very pleased with how both of these steels hold up for work. As far as I'm concerned Spyderco can continue to make all of their knives with one of these ...

Your worst "bite"/Why we need MBC

This might be an interesting topic. I recently picked up one of the Ka-Bar Kukris. By now you already know where this story is going. If you have to choose one go with black on black. The digicam really does look awesome, but it's sort of a niche style that you may one day eventually get bored of. Black, on the other hand, is forever. Just make sure you inspect the floor model for edge consistency, blade alignment, and any other ...

I wasn't able to make this decision myself when Millie shopping so I ended up buying both. One I use for more abusive work and one will live a much longer, easier life.
