I really enjoy sharpening any type of steel, I find it really satisfying and am getting pretty good at it (although i'm struggling to get a good edge on my Bob Terzuola, CPM S30V) even friends and work colleagues bring me their knifes for a little reconditioning :)

My mate has just got himself a dragonfly frn se and has been quizzing me about sharpening it.

I have a sharpmaker, does anyone have any tips or sound advice for sharpening a chisel spyder edge?

Ok Ok! It turned up yesterday and i love it! Seems a little stiff and the spydie hole is a little small as i'm used to the larger delica but its awesome!

It's easing up a little, i can 'wang' it as me and my mates call it (thumb in the hole and flick it clean open) so i'm happy as larry.

Mileage

I've seen people talk about sharpening about once a month, I touch mine up at least once a week. This got me wondering if a use my knife more than most.
I'm currently using my delica 4 ffg.
I worked out in one week i cut.. (i only use my knifes at work)

9 meters of tape
6 meters of card

Ignore 99% of youtube vids would be my advice, they all seem to be in such a hurry, missing half the edge, sitting at a funny angle and dragging the tip off the edge.
