Well, it really just varies depending on what a buyer's willing to pay and how quick of a sale you want. Here are my estimates based on what I have seen on Ebay in the past few months. Red G-10 Persian sprint $150 Foliage green flat ground JD Smith sprint $160 ** CF ZDP Walker sprint $200 CF ZDP St...

I'm seeing the PM2 20CP going for 350-450, and the XHP military for about the same.

It's crazy how wildly it varies though. I saw one that went for 250 and the highest went at 470.

Help me appraise some of my "rarer" spydies?

*I am not soliciting offers, this is just for my personal edification* So it's been a while since I've been very active in the knife community (though I still continue buying spydies when I can :D ), and I have a lot of models that I don't really see listed on ebay anymore. I'm just looking to get a...

When I buy a knife, especially a sprint run, it's because it A)Appeals to me and B)Is probably my only opportunity to get one for a decent price. If I didn't think I would want to keep the knife and use it and/or add it to my collection, I wouldn't even consider buying it. I guess if I were made of ...

I got my Chaparral for Christmas, and I have EDC'd it more than any other knife since then. Mine was beautifully constructed as well. I did loosen up the pivot a bit, so that caused the blade centering to be a bit off, but it also allows it to open easier without affecting the lockup. The spring on ...

Thanks for the response! I don't mind it, the action is so silky smooth, and I'm not a big stickler for blade centering. As long as the blade runs parallel to the handle which it does. Absolutely love this knife...the gorgeous Nishijin glass fiber, the almost wharncliffe style blade shape. It is def...

We were joking around in the "Earth" thread a couple of days ago, but I like the idea of naming a series of knives after moons in the solar system. NASA has cataloged over 336 named moons in the solar system - and some of them have pretty cool names: - Ganymede - Callisto - Phobos - Diemo...

Lum Chinese--two different washers?

Hey everyone! I just received my first new Spyderco since christmas (money's been tight :/), the Lum Chinese is Nishijin fiber. It's gorgeous, perfectly ground and assembled. The only strange thing I noticed though, is that on the lock side, the washer is made a Teflon and rather thick, and on the o...

As much as I love thin edges and acute angles, If Mini Sharp Maker can have only one angle 40 degrees make more sense IMHO. I can see this tool just for quick touch-ups and not for reprofiling. Many people put backbevel @ 30, for them minitool at 30 will be useless. My thoughts exactly. 40 is a goo...

I guess not all thumbs are created equal. I think designing a blade primarily so that someone can safely gravity drop it into their finger is a poor way to design a blade. I'm more concerned about how the choil performs when I'm actually using the knife (the reason I have it to begin with) and how ...

Not in the palm, but when pushing down with the thumb in a saber grip. Doesn't your thumb fall on the thumb ramp? It seems like in order to have your thumb on the compression lock cutout, you'd either need really tiny hands, or a very cramped saber grip. I like to stretch my thumb out in saber grip...

I'd definitely agree with the Pacific Salt (or Salt 1 if almost 4" is too big), in serrated edge. I think the serrated edge is better because it holds a much better edge on H-1 knives and it is much better for cutting rope/cord/line, pruning twigs, etc.

The G10 Dragonfly has steel liners? Yes, drilled out non-nested stainless liners. It is a pretty hefty knife for its size, but not overly heavy. I love my G-10 Dragonfly. It is a great multi-purpose subcompact EDC. Great for regular EDC, as well as a great gentleman's knife. I'm a sucker for the st...
