Pygmy Warrior and Sheath
I've had some of Spyderco's Pygmy Warriors for several weeks now, and I am thoroughly impressed with both the knife and sheath. As delivered, the Pygmy Warrior w/sheath is perfect as a concealable self defense system. I use the term system because both the knife and sheath must interact efficiently ...

Just a suggestion from a whitewater kayaker with at least 30 years experience: why not just use para cord through the eyelets of the sheath for attachment, instead of some kind of clip? You can get a flatter lie on the PFD, plus attach to shoulder strap, lash tab, or chest adjustment webbing; anywhe...

The design has been around for a while, but never put into production. Before REKAT decided to close its doors, the Pygmy Warrior was the last project to hit the prototype stage, but that's as far as it got. 3 protos were made, I did the sheaths for them, but then REKAT chose to go out of business. ...

The thing with history is that it needs to be correct. I'll address the sheath side 'cause that's my ballpark and my name was mentioned. BTW it is Mike, not Jim. Totally agree that the Warrior design and purpose is best served with a kydex/Concealex combat scabbard. The very first sheaths provided d...

Great story,Tonie! If you like the Pocket Hobbit and Hobbit Warrior, you should also like Spyderco's soon to be released Pygmy Warrior. It is basically a fixed blade version the size of a deployed Pocket Hobbit, with a handle who's thickness can be adjusted to your hand size. Sheath will have a G-Cl...

Tonie, Here's a comparison picture for you (couldn't find it when first posted). The middle holster is by Skunkworks. They work ok as a general rule, but if you are doing a lot o practice draws or using the knife more than casually, the HD model functions better over time. Added another look at the ...

I could have swore that I did indeed hear at one time, through a very established Forum member say that the Gray handled, ATS-55 Matriarch models were intended for the South African market. I had also heard that many years ago as well. It hasn't been that long ago ( maybe a year at the most) that I...
