Hmm
So many different people, so many different feet.
Foot-anatomics can be very different from person to person.
What fits one perfectly, is complete **** for another.
With shoes/boots you need to look what fits your personal anatomy and also your personal preferences. That means you need to go to ...

Thanks for the info guys, I've been eyeing some Redwings for a while, but i really like the look of the Corcorans, comfort and durability are top of my list. How do you find the sizing of them? Unfortunately where i live, (rural Australia) with things like American boots my buying options are ...

Excellent review/comparison, the southfork is my dream knife incarnate, and i always love seeing knives used for one of their ancestral purposes such as butchering. Also that steak looks wonderful, as does the scenery.

Rocky Boots

As an electrician and living on a farm i'm always on the lookout for a good boot, and i recently stumbled upon "Rocky" boots. I know there has been a boot thread or two in the past but seeing as a lot of the spyderco crowd are outdoorsy i was wondering if anyone has experience with Rocky boots ...

A farmhand on a property i do a bit of work at has taken to calling me eddie (after edward scissorhands) because im always carrying at least 4 knives on my person on the job. It wasnt a spydie but a builder who's a good mate of mine was cutting fruit with a tiny SAK so in classic crocodile dundee ...

I recently decided to get somewhat back into archery and start bowhunting after having an el cheapo 55 lb compound as a teenager, got myself a brand new PSE bruteX 60lb and have shot it almost every day since it arrived, i only backyard (more like back paddock) shoot, not a competitive person, but ...

In my opinion the diamond rods are well worth the price i find them as useful if not more so than the UF's, i have 2 sets and i use them for everything from axes to knives, swords and screwdrivers, both in the sharpmaker and freehand. As for the sandpaper and coarse stones idea i would think flat ...

So far today i have used my gayle bradley for breakfast(scrambled eggs and bacon on toast), my orange mili to strip coaxial cable and cut about 15 cable ties, my waved rescue 93mm for off hand cable tie cutting while holding onto a ridgecap on a roof, and my old school mirror polished moran to open ...

luckily bows (excluding crossbows) and most swords aren't a controlled import yet but i'm sure they're working on it.
With the non-metallic and non-ceramic knives i think that means you CAN'T import sharpened plastic knives like the cold steel nightshade series.

And a "sheath knife" if i remember ...

Australia-revised "weapon" importation laws.

Not sure if this has been discussed yet, i haven't been on here for a while but i stumbled across this and thought my fellow aussie collectors of sharp things should give this a read. One hand opening knives are now on the "Items that ARE or MAY BE subject to control" list, as are battle axes ...

The street beat is my favourite spyder but a micarta street bowie would be my favourite knife ever.
DaBird, if you want better grip and don't mind covering up the beautiful micarta you could wrap the handle in camoform, i did it to my scratched-up street beat that i use at work and it really helps ...

The Street Beat is a phenominal small fixed blade that is readily availible. I would look there before asking for a new design.

You won't be disappointed.

I have to agree, the Street Beat is a fantastic little fixed blade and my favourite spydie. I have 3 of them :D . And my boss who isn't ...

Yes, as Jim and Daniel said, the main thing is that you must have a legitimate reason for carrying one whether its your occupation or just a reasonable everyday task that requires a knife, and really the final judge of any legitimate reason is the officer who stops you.

I am an apprentice ...

That takes a big load off my shoulders, I assumed it would just be destroyed. If I send them back I'll be sure to use that money for a nice big fixed blade :)

I'm not entirely sure about the sending back/refund thing but i remember reading it somewhere, possibly in the seizure notice i got (its ...

Thanks for the quick replies. I live in South Australia and had no idea that made a difference.

I thought the Caly 3 might be too tough to flick out by wrist action alone so that's good to get confirmation.

I also had no idea that's what a gravity knife was. I've heard that customs flick the ...

You could do it with a hair dryer or even a butane torch, but its a fine line you have to be careful that you don't make it too loose. If you make it looser with heat it will still have to break in a bit and might become too loose after a few draws. I don't have a rhino yet but i have a boker gnome ...
