Re: In Loving Memory - Jurphaas van Rietschoten

Rest In Peace Jur! What a great man. Years ago I sent him a g-shock from Tokyo and he unexpectedly sent me a knife from his collection. He will be missed.

I have a pair of those SEKI clippers from Amazon, they are really nice. They are marked JAPAN on the back.
And my favorite nail clippers are the AG Russell clippers. http://is.gd/OqIo

BUT I would buy a Spyderco set in a New York minute.

I just saw the preview for this before Watchmen yesterday and it was cool to see a HUGE IMAX SPYDERCO in front of me, if only for a moment.

Well, I kinda feel compelled to comment, given I've been using this pseudonym since my first days on the interwebs. Saw the movie in IMAX yesterday. If you are a fan of the graphic novel, I think it gets an "A" for effort in character portrayal and set design. Rorschach is almos...

Perhaps try compressing the spring by squeezing the handle in a padded vice? Yeah in the end I did need to squeeze the handle somewhat to get the barrel back in, but it was still tough! When I reversed the clip on my UKPK, I never removed the barrel. I backed the screw out far enough to slide the c...

Q for Spyderco or mechanically inclined on the Urban clip

OK I got the Urban, its great! As a OCD lefty I immediately like to switch the clips on my knives if they can accommodate lefty carry. The clip on the Urban can be switched, but the barrel of the bolt is also what provides tension in the spring bar/slip joint. I had a heck of a time getting the barr...

OK, here ye be. Just got mine today. **** it was hard to reverse the clip to lefty-carry. The barrel of the clip screw holds the slip joint in tension. There's gotta be an easier way!! Anyway so far I quite like the Urban. Good size, and the slip joint is pretty solid. More comments later after I pu...

Excellent review and now multimedia Wouter! As always I am shocked when the reality of a knife's actual size betrays my preconceived notion. (I of course thought this piece was much bigger.) Now I see how sleek it is, it makes me want one even more

Good job brother.

You bet! Caly3 is in my main rotation and is often my choice. Light, sleek, lefty friendly, deep clip. Its got the whole package.

But I just got my ZDP Lum today so there will be some competition!

I fly about 20 times a year domestically (US) and internationally. I have been checking a Dragonfly or other small knife (eg. pride) since 2002. On outdoor vacations I take the Endura or Salt too. I have never had one stolen. I usually put it in a zippered pocket inside the suitcase. So I am either ...

I gots mad love for the ATR! I have SS Fully Serrated and its one of my main weekend carry choices. Silky smooth, chainsaw ability, and lefty-friendly. To me its like someone shot the Jester with an enlarging ray, love the blade shape.
