I have serrated H1 Spyderhawk and think for defense it (or a Tasman salt or other serrated H1 blade) would be great.Looks scary which is a help and with factory edge it will cut thru plastic, rope and cardboar easily.I can imagine what it would do to an arm or some other body part-OUCH.

Maybe this is off topic but here goes. I work for a polymer company and cut polymer with different types of blades and steel daily.I have had lesser steels dull/roll quicker than softer steels when they were sharpened very sharp/shallow angle. It is amazing the difference the angle can make.Scary sha...

Lum Tanto. Spyderco rarely makes a Tanto point and it is a sprint run. Last xmas I was going to buy a Chinook but bought two more affordable Spydies instead and now wish I would have gotten the Chinook because it is ouf production. The price for a Chinook has gotten crazy. That Lum Tanto will be much ...

Native 5. Great steel, great pivot, made in a great country-USA. It looks like a thicker more durable knife than previous Natives. Looks like the older Mini Manix.Reminds me of my new Manix 2 in blade thickness and with the GREAT steel and full flat grind I believe I will pass yet again on the Para 2....

No. He never said it was open in his pocket. He did say the police officer had trouble opening it which makes me believe it was closed.

Not married and I slowed down on gun ammo purchases.I need to slow down on my knife habit/hobby. I decided $50 a month or $100 every two months or $150 every three months is fine.I was doubling that lately. Some people crap their pants when I tell them I spend that much on knives regularly but they s...

If I drink I can not carry my gun even with my permit but can still legally carry a knife so I do.Also I cant carry a gun in a restaurant that serves alcohol so I carry a good blade for emergency.I always carry a knife if it is legal.Since I am 40 now and dont hang out in a group and no more tank to...

I just ordered a Manix 2. I thought I did not "need" one.I was wrong about my H1 Spyderhawk,I needed it. I bought a UKPK in GIN 1 after hearing about how good the steel really is.It is a beautifull steel,as I was told and holds a good edge.Whenever I doubt a Spyderco product I tend to want...

I have came to learn that I never need to sharpen my Spyderco serrated edged knives.I just use a leather shoe string with stropping compound to strop the blade. I do that with the bigger SE blades that I use every single day.It keeps them cardboard box cutting sharp for months and months and months....

Why can't you just sharpen it back to the way it was before? I need to send it in for resharpening if possible.I tried cutting some super hard plastic we never used before at work and it really dulled the blade.Normally a shoelace and stropping compound once week was fine. This new proprietary super...

Haha haha. My kind of sarcasm. I almost got stuck with a fake.If they look legit with all the right markings it makes it much harder to tell if it is legit.

I actually bidded on one just like that.THEN I figured out it was a fake after the fact.I told the guy to keep $5. He did list it as a clone.I thought clone meant it was Spyderco re release or a model with different size or some type of sprint run.It will never happen to me again.sticking with known...

I almost hate to admit this.Last week I saw a Spyderco knife on ebay listed as a Spyderco Clone. I saw Golden Colorado Earth USA S30V or such on the blade. The seller said he could not find the exact model but it was very similar to a Spyderco UK penknife.Black G10 slip it with a S30V 3 inch blade.It...

Can a Spyderwawk blade go into an Endura 4 handle?

I have an Endura 4 green FRN knife that I don't use much anymore. It dulled down so much instead of just stropping it with shoelace and compound as I did for years I used a round ceramic stone and it just got duller.I should have sent it back for resharpening and just stropped it like I did for the l...

My dream Spydie would be a beefed up Manix ( a couple more torx screws on the frame) and a karambit style ring with all metal locking parts(no clear plastic) with either a full flat grind S30V or VG 10 or ZDP 189 Hawkbill shaped/curved like the Spyderhawk but add a small wave. I would like to see a ...

Go with screw construction and the bigger more capable blade if it is legal.I do think you could get by on either to be honest.I wish they offered the Spyderhawk in more colors and VG 10 plain edge for people like me who do not need the corrosion resistance but want a longer edge life.I cut teflon t...
