Need Spyderco in London
It's been such a long time since the last time I posted something here. Anyway, jut wondering if anyone knows where I can buy spyderco knives in London? I was careless enough to lose my Endura here, and i can't find a replacement for it. And it's the second Endura I've lost (The first one back in Au...

I don't know about the states, but where I am, it's illegal to carry any sort of self defence 'weapon', whether it was sharp or blunt. heck, we're not allowed to carry knives as an EDC. but I have been carrying my expandable baton for the past 5-6 years, and have only used it for self defence once. ...

thanks for all the useful info! i really didn't know i could change the structure just by going above 110 degrees! i was going to boil it in soapy water at one stage to clean it, lucky i didn't. Oh, and relax people, if you read the last line of the first post, I mention that i didn't poke my spydie...

heat treatment
If I was to use, say my Endura, to poke red hot coals and accidently left it in there till it got red hot.....would i have changed the structure of the metal? Have i just made it weaker?
(no, i didn't do this to my little baby. just out of curiosity)

grease on knives
Hi people, just wondering if anyone has tried using grease to lubricate their knives? after trying desperately to loosen the blade on my old endura for the past few weeks, (dipping in HOT water, and opening and closing for a few hours every night), and oiling it with machine oil...and getting no-whe...

204 sharpening techniques
what sharpening technique works for you? I don't seem to be sharpening properly. i always end up with a rounded bevel edge instead of a flat one (by looking at the reflection of light). do you have any special techniques which you found yourself which helps you hold the knife at the correct angle? e...

I store mine in closed position. It's safer, and protects the edge. BTW, I never noticed the tension on the lock.. seems to be in same position open or closed...only moves when opening or closing the blade. while we're on the subject, do you display your unused knives, or keep them locked away? -Imp...

Gglockman99, I'm sorry if i sound impatient to you, but after reading the several posts where it only took them 2.5 hours or 1.5 hours to loosen their blade, and I spent more than 10hours in total, so i would consider myself pretty patient. And did you notice that the mention of working it a few tho...

I guess the reason would be, because my RESCUE is about that sharp, and i want all knives to be about the same level of sharpness. Also, just putting my mind at rest, knowing that my 204 IS able to get knives that sharp. It's also good to impress other people showing them how sharp they are, to get ...

Hi people, I still need help, I tried what you have suggested, ie. dunk knife in hot soapy water, open and close to clean out gunk, then while it was hot, i dried it, oiled it, and open and close while watching TV for 3-4 hours. did this for the past several nights, but it's still stiff! i don't thi...

how to get hair-poppin sharp?
is it possile to get a spyder-edge hair poppin sharp using the 204?
is it a matter of reprofiling the blade to 30degrees?
or do we have to somehow get an ultrafine stone to finish it off?
any help would be appreciated.

I realised cost cutting was one reason, but i think it would be good to have the option of a better blade for those who choose it. That's an idea, to be able to have custom spyderco knives - to be able to choose the type of blade steel, style, and handle, but of course, this will definitely make it ...
