I think the primary grind on the MagnaCut Native is more acute than the LC200N. Since the earlier photo I sharpened the tip on the MC blade to 15 degrees like I have it on the LC200N blade and you can see how much wider the bevel is on it vs. the LC. The serrations as is on the MC are actually more...
I find both to be a bit short behind the choil, but the less pronounced point on the Stretch is less annoying. If I were stuck between these two and size wasn't a concern I'd go with the Stretch XL. David, are you sure you´re talking about the Stretch 2? Or rather the discontinued Stretch 1? The &q...
i don't know. i remember thinking once the p3lw was released that a salt was a natural progression and would soon follow. it didn't happen. Well the question I still have is, will they go all in with everything they make in MagnaCut and make them true Salt models, or will there be knives with the b...
I still say this is the combo edge we all need, whether you realize it or not :winking-tongue https://live.staticflickr.com/887/39359510240_13bc74c3cb_z.jpg PE at the heel where hard carving cuts happen, SE in the middle where material would normally slip off the blade, and a bit of PE at the tip fo...

Am I the only one who wants to see a 3/16ths + stock LC200N or Magna cut camp knife? I will probably soon have a custom made in LC200N chunky, tough beater camp knife because none seem to exist on the market.
The smoother the finish, the smaller it is and the less crevices for corrosion to form. This is why you'll see everything Victorinox makes coming with a mirror polish.
People's uses differ, so I don't wanna sound like what works for me should work for everyone, but once I figured out the sharpening side of serrations, i switched and haven't looked back. I've just passed 5 years of only using SE and I've only used PE when I'm trying out other steels like my MagnaCu...
Well, like it or not I think you answered your own question/request. It's either that or cost or something the maker doesn't want to do. There's not much else to say that justifies it. It's either a response to something or someone feels that it's best this way. They're not grinding blades and going...
I'm going to guess and say mine just came from the first batch that came off the wheel? It has been said that serration geometry changes over time as the grinding wheel wears, maybe mine is just from the first batch when the wheel was at max size/radius.
I proposed this years ago, because I hate sharpening notches because they tend to snag on things, but if they were a single sharpened serration they have so much more use and you still get the benefits of a sharpening notch for those that need them. It never really got much traction but I'd have it ...
You may. Some time between today and 2026. Jokes aside I bet it's one of the first in cue along with the Para 2. The Para 3 seems like a really popular seller, I'm kinda surprised they didn't go that route instead of the Native 5, but maybe since there was already a Salt Native 5 and they wanted to ...
Not sure how hardcore this is but the wife made a (friggin delicious) rotisserie chicken tonight so I took the opportunity to split it with my Native. We do this all the time with our Spyderco Santoku without any edge issues but never tried it with serrations. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/526...
The question is - when is it coming out? Native 5 took quite a while ...
I would think at this point knives will start to trickle out in MagnaCut as capacity allows it, or I guess as they plan to make them. I would think this knife is just around the corner since it revealed with the Native.
Well this is interesting, not really sure what to call this, surely not a patina?? This morning I cut up some pizza and wiped the blade off with a paper towel but it left some residue on the blade. I was in a hurry so I just closed it and put it away. Now about 5 hours later I wipe it off, starting ...
