Hey guys, I got my cf m390 millie Friday and it is AWESOME!! My favorite part is the pattern on the CF; you can actually see the pattern even though it is peel ply (unlike Seki Cf where you have to tilt it to show the pattern). I also have the jimping issue, not sure what happened there, but it isn'...

Tomorrow me and Mr. Keating's Chinook 3 will be once more into the breach! My brother in law and I are taking a road trip to El Paso Texas and from there into Juarez Mexico. I know that place is like a war zone but the schedule is set and we're going regardless! We went a year ago and it went realt...

I recently started using a belt to sharpen my knives. I finish off with a 6µ which according to a chart I'm sure lots of you've seen equates to the SM ultrafine. I do finish off with the SharpMaker fine rod. If I don't it just doesn't seem finished. Like some of you have said, I guess the belt does...

I am a long way from an expert in this area though . I tend to do more harm than good if I try to polish or I'm getting a false ...

I've read in your post that you have machines to do the grinding on your blades , but what about final sharpening . Do you use a belt sanding system ,or a paper wheel system or just freehand. I'm referring to your production knives ,not personal preference. Although your personal preference would b...

It's not as bad as you think. Straight razors are generally deeply hollow-ground on both sides, and you can rest the spine on the stone at the same time as the edge to hold more or less the correct angle.
