It was the Q, in the mid 90's, because I couldn't afford the beautiful Viele knife (I was student, and here in France, everything is more expensive !). And the same year, I bought my very first Native !

Native 2, full stainless steel. A heavy one, but pleasant in hand !

My first love for a Spydie, when I was student and couldn't afford it, the Viele (I get it later after, second hand).
And one of my favorite between soooo many ; it was not easy to choose, love the M4 steel one, love the one with natural G10, love the first one with its blade design ... Well, love ...

I'm from France too, not perfect too so ;) and like you, I begun to become fan of Spyderco with the beautiful Viele. Perhaps the most beautiful Spyderco (even if I'm a big fan of the Native) But I was not able to buy it, too expensive for a student. I found it 2 years ago in a shop, a ...

How about the pink Native? That knife would be ideal, size and weight wise I think? :)

But I think more about a little cute pink Dragonfly, no ? And if she does'nt like pink, it may be in Yellow/Orange/black/british racing green ...!

I'm french and I proudly like what Spyderco makes (and sells !). Not because it comes from USA, but because they create awesome knives, some made in USA, some elsewhere, but always with high-quality standards.
And I like as the more so as since I met Sal and Eric who are close to and very friendly ...

It's one of my favorites Spydies, and looks like my first one, the "Q" ! So yes, a good choice !
Anyway, whatever the one you'll choose as the first, it will only be the first (of a great collection, I wish you !). ;)

PS : I really like the G10 one, but FRN ones are really great, very nice, and a ...

I didn't get any Spyderco ... ;( but with the gift money, I'll order 2-3, like the Orange Dragonfly, and the H1 yellow one ! And perhaps another Native 5 Ti as my personnal gift to myself :)

All she needs is her parents ' love, and judging by her smile, she got it ! She have now everything to fight this f....g cancer, and the best knife for her coming wood shacks.

Really?? I've been to France many times over the years, always carried one or two knives on my person.

Well, the problem in France is that a knife is considered as a weapon that you cannot carry without legitimate reason. And for policemen, there's no legitimate reason ... So I'm almost sure that ...

Sorry for your lost knife ! But couldn't you try to hide it in the bathroom ? Well, I can imagine what you felt, panic and stress are not the best guides when you have 10 minutes to find a solution ! Well, now you just have to imagine where it is, depending of who found it.

Something "cool" here in ...

Well, I prefer not too big Spydies (like Manix or Military, even if I love them too !) so for me :

- Native : for being the best knife ever ? ;)
- Viele 1 : for gentlemen (and for being the one which makes me become Spydercoholic !)
- Dragonfly : for being small, and perfect EDC
- Khalsa : for ...

For sure you need a more specialist. But it seems to me that on the cheap replica, the smallest screws (the 2 on top of the knife) have the same screw thread (not sure of the traduction, i mean the size of the screwdriver needed) than the big one (which hold the blade) and their edge seems thinner ...

Native and D'fly are two of my favorite's Spydies. I'm waiting the day a knife would dethrone the Native in my hearth ! (secretly waiting a come-back to a more spear point blade for it )

I'm not a specialist, and don't own the Paramilitary, but the laser engraving, the overall quality and the box, make me feel it's a genuine one.
And if I re-centered my Spydie collection around the Native (love it !), this Paramilitary, with digicamo handles, attract me for long time !

Great job ! Even if I love the Native exactly for its spear point blade ; so you're right keeping a small section of it, making a combo of a FFG and spear point blade !
