To be honest I'd rather see less FRN used on folders.

Be careful to get one of the second run Squeaks. Unfortunately there is a small flaw on the first run that made the blade rub against the interior of the knife if pressure is applied when the knife is closed.

That flaw would ruin my enjoyment of the knife, so I'd send it in.

I also beleive other colors are coming out(hopefully soon).
I asked Sal recently in another thread if other colors were going to follow the pink Squeak and he told us that there are no plans at this time.

One from each country, all non-locking for UK EDC, all with different handle materials

UKPK (Ti) - Golden
Leaf Urban (G10) - Seki
Terzuola SLIPIT (CF) - Taichung
Squeak (FRN) - Maniago

I don't have any Chinese Spydercos but those that do can also add the Kiwi slipjoint (Stag) - Yulin

I'd go with a Moran for food prep - the only negative I can foresee is that your workmates will want to use it for their food too :)

Are any other colours besides pink in the works for the Squeak, Sal? I like the black, but it would be good to have a choice of some others too.

I like friction folders and Filip's Deviant FFs are very highly regarded in European knife circles, so I really hope this knife makes it into production. I'm certain it will be an instabuy for me.

The orange ones were common and in production for a couple of years, but they're scarce now because they were discontinued in 2010.

Titanium doesn't patinate, although you can change the colour it by heating it.

It will however change over time as it picks up scratches. At first the scratches look messy, but eventually they start to cover the whole knife and make it appear almost 'stonewashed'. I love this look!

The name I like to see on a Spyderco knife is SAL :)

To be serious, I don't care about the model name unless it's written on the knife somewhere. If the Squeak had the name stamped on it I wouldn't have bought it, but I can ignore names I don't like if I can't see them.

We've been asking for a stronger spring ever since the first FRN UKPKs were released - that's nearly two years ago, if my memory is correct. CQI is a much slower process than I thought it would be! It's a shame, because if the FRN UKPK had a firmer spring it would be the very best available budget p...

I use a microbevel on all my scandis in the field which should be enough to offset any chipping problems with S30V, so it's OK with me. I don't believe in sharpening the flats when I'm out and about.
