Agree with blerv. It would be pretty sillly to ask Ferrari to build a cheapo version of their vehicles for the majority. You would end up with a honda sports car with a horsie slapped on the hood, defeating the purpose of a luxury item. I would prefer to keep the Chaparral line higher end, using hig...

Thank god I ordered the Southard. The quality is **** near CRK level in my humble opinion. It is so stupidly smooth and yet so solid in terms of lockup that I shed a tear of joy. My beloved Umnumzaan has gone back into its box (still my favorite folder) because the Southard will be my new edc indefi...

I ordered one last night and I'm having second thoughts. Seems to be alot of money for a full production knife and I'm worried it wont be able to share pocket time with my CRKs. Hopefully its as good as people have said. Will post once I get it in my hands.

From my experience bladeforums is by far the best to sell on even with the $25 membership fee. BF has the highest traffic and you are able sell at a higher price compared to other sites like JD. I always end up having to sell at a steeper discount on JD because they just have much less traffic. You ...

Even if it is a CF laminate over G10, it should be stronger than pure CF handles. G10 is tougher, stronger, and chemically/heat resistant material while CF is more rigid and brittle (from what I gathered after some research). Seems like a similar concept to laminate ZDP-189 steel and get the best of...

As much as I love the Sage 2, I'll have to pick the Sage 1 as my favorite. Its got this glassy smooth action and rock solid lockup. Also the cf just feels really good in my hands. I would have to say the Sage 1 is my favorite Spyderco knife at this time.

Where the did you hear that from? There's a reason why M4 is usually the steel of choice for most competition choppers. They are very tough and hold an edge.

I've never encountered a Military with noticeable vertical play and it is definitly not normal. Send it in to Spyderco and have them fix it. Dont listen to the foolish advice of bending the lockbar in.

I can confidently say spydercos qc is on par with benchmade and kershaw so im not sure why you would single out spyderco like this. Every company is going to let some lemons slip through. If spyderco doesnt take care of you when you have a legit issue then you would have something to rage about.

Anyone else losing interest?

Between my Para 2, Sage 2, and ZDP Stretch I've lost all interest in purchasing knives. In the past I would always find something new to lust over but nowadays I'm just content to use my 3 favorite knives and enjoy them. Maybe I just need to get into exotic steels :D . I'm curious as to what keeps o...

Honestly I dont think its a problem at all. In fact I like that the clip isnt scratching up the ti scale on my sage 2. Doesnt trash my pockets and stays firmly clipped as well.

Wire Clip Question

I noticed on my Sage 1 and Sage 2 that the wire clip doesnt fully contact the handle. In fact just one side of the clip makes contact with the scales. Is this the way it was designed? I found this out today and I initially though I had bent out both the clips slightly but I dont think thats the case...

I think your best bet would be to pick out the desirable Delicas and make groups of 5-10 delicas with 1 desirable Delica per group and try selling them in small groups at good prices. I'm sure you would make more piecing them out individually but that would take considerable time and effort to do an...

I'm assuming you didn't like the compression lock of the P2 if you found the Stretch more user friendly. Imo, the compression lock is pretty fantastic, far better than the back lock in both strength and usability. Sometimes it takes a little getting used to though, to fully appreciate it. I love th...

I also get the impression that 8Cr13Mov takes a hit the rust resistance department... just based purely on anecdotal evidence, of course. For $30 it is a great steel on a great knife. For what the OP describes I would get the stretch. I love my Para2, but the tip feels much more delicate than the s...
