Locally Penn Station puts our Subway to shame. And like you said, Mom and Pop places or local (not chain) grocery Deli's tend to be great.

G-10 Worker, Kiwi, and Black Southard are all catching my interest, and more VG-10 is always good in my book.

Best (or worst) I have done is snagged my Endura's clip on the lawnmower getting off one day. It sprung the (hourglass) clip, and cracked it at the lanyard hole. W&R had me a new clip in 3 days or so. I have sprung this one a few times with no problems rebending it.

I prefer a full polished edge, just because it just doesn't seen "right" to drag a nice fresh edge over a coarser grit to get a toothier edge. I understand the how and why, even experienced it, but I still prefer a fine polished edge. :o

Not much to add other than VG-10 is favored well over S30V and the uber steels. It has a good combination of ease of sharpenability, good edge holding, fine edge taking, roll instead of chipping damage in my experience, and rust resistance. S30V chipped out and did not sharpen up as well for me.

Or go a totally different direction, we make a grilled chicken with butter/basil/garlic marinade/topping. It is a little bland on it's own, but we dip it in a mix of Real Mayo, Grey Poupon, Garlic powder and Worcestershire sauce, more Worcestershire gives it more bite. I have been known to mix up a ...

Check it out, it is like an alternate (slightly bluer) dimension, where knives are boats..... :D http://www.sagemarine.us/forum/ While playing with the protos was amazing, what was probably the coolest part was talking with Sal, who is in addition to being a maker of pocketknives, is now a maker of ...

That's not a bug, it's a feature. Doubles as a baby rattle, snake call or audible location system.

I picked up this Gerstner knock-off some time back for about 1/2 the listed price. They discount it once a month or so. I'd love to have a Gerstner, but it works well enough. I also have a few other metal Machinists chests, but my lovely wife preferred not to have those in the house as "furnitu...

I carried a stainless Endrua II, then E4 for a combined 5 years before moving on to the G-10 once it came out. I never had any issues with slipperiness, and really liked them. Still pull them out from time to time. G-10 IS G-10 though. :D

Based on carrying and usage, it is not too big at all. Mighty fine EDC. I carried one for 2 1/2 years, before coming back to the Endura, I really prefer tip up.

Based on environment and situation, only you can answer that.

I did not buy one of these back when they were readily available. A bit later I ran across one in a shop for some astronomical amount $$, and once again passed, but it was one of the smoothest knives I have opened. I finally snuck up on one on the 'bay a little while back and really like it. I pull ...

I keep a separate knife fund, stay out of the household funds, and save up for what I want. Knife fund gets funded from B-day $$, selling knives, other stuff, etc. She is actually somewhat excited for me when I get something new. Happy happy happy!
