i like using my pinky and opening into a reverse grip. Not that i've ever needed it in reverse grip, it's just fun. I saw Michael Janich open a yo2 (i think) like that in a video once.

i wonder if the small ridged micro-finish on the scales would reduce scratches as smooth Ti is prone to collect over time?

I'm in the same camp as Evil D. I used to carrry a delica IWB but found that the butt of the knife that sticks beyond the clip (and consequently above the wasitband) dug into my hip if I leaned over to the side. My caly 3.5 lives there now and I hardly know it's there. Probably helps that it's butt ...

exactly what blerv said. I had a cara cara which was almost spyderco worthy if you don't nitpick toooo much. It was a fantastic knife for the price and ended up making a much appreciated gift for a coworker. 8Cr13MoV is comparable to 420J... soft but takes a wicked edge very easily. holds up a bit b...

My dream knife would be a caly 3.5 (my current favorite at least). Just as it comes, except for one addition: as many 100$ bills stuffed under the clip as can be fit! keep it simple right?

I'm positive that I'm the minority here, but I'm not a fan of spydie serrations in a softer steel like H1. I have salt 1s in both PE and SE and much much prefer PE. Granted I use them both quite hard, but i ended up chipping the SE. Not the points, but inside the serration valleys. I chipped the PE ...

I decided to focus my entry on Spyderco's incredible ability to cut. We are all familiar and fond the good old paper cut test, so my shot depicts a "dream paper cut test" with lacerated paper flying out back in fear of the irresistible power of the Caly 3.5. Anyway hope you like it, thanks...

i stick to the sharpmaker for sharpening, but at work, I maintain my work knife's edge by stropping on various cardboard boxes just lying around. a salt 1 if you're curious.
