I have nearly bought the Wharncliff bladed Urban so many time I have lost count. What stopped me each time was the fairly high price in relation to the many other cheaper slip-jointed Spyderco knives, like the Squeak. I'd really love to see the Wharncliff shaped blade on the cheaper, FRN handle and ...

I'm fairly lucky in that I have about 10x 5mm kidney stones (used to have 15 at the peak) but they don't hurt one bit ... mild soreness when you pass one but nothing to worry about. The nurses and radiologists all scratched their heads and said I'm a medical miracle. My father had them really bad th...

The non-locking version already exist, It's the actual production with steel or bone scales, but It's made in China and there are big differences between the Japan made. Exactly why I asked ... I have held-off buying the existing slipit Kiwis because they're nice but I am not a big fan of steel or ...

I'd avoid taking any knife in my pocket or cabin bags anyway - just put everything in your suitcase and if you have to open it when you arrive then as long as it's a folder and non-assisted you should be fine. I don't know any country where it is illegal to *possess* a folding, non-assisted knife. C...

It isn't enough to know the law on the books (statute law), you have to know how it has been interpreted and adapted in the Courts (case law) and also how the law enforcement and prosecutors are applying the law on the streets. As Paul says, it's a constantly moving target. The best you can do is to...

Is the edge after it's discolored less sharp than it was when it was bright (assuming, for the purpose of discussion, that the cutting that created the discoloration didn't cause dulling). I'd have thought that, as long as it isn't an actual rust-spot, that any oxidation would be a microscopic laye...

I've just received my full-flat UKPK Lightweight in black and can confirm that the back-spring holds the knife open *much* stronger than in both the old FRNs and the G10/CF. It really takes a hard push to close but the opening is still as smooth as, say, the CF or G10. I really love the polish on th...

Great vids Wouter - many thanks! :) Loving the Balance/Equilibrium ... why can't we have some more of that rain-drop damascus as a scale material!? ;) Best so far for me is the Domino but can a smooth-opening flipper be made non-locking? I know it has some engineering challenges but I'm sure Eric ca...

I have never really had the skill to mod a knife (nor the time) but I do think that more and more people are being creative and trying it out. As a movement it's probably being fed by the growing use of forums like this and the ease of posting photos of your work or videos of how to do the mods. Yea...

Interesting thought Chris. Let me think about that? sal My pleasure. I know that knife design is always more complicated than it seems from the user's point of view so I will just leave the experts to dwell on it. But I really like the FRN series and have always thought that they could benefit from...
