The knife does feel good and sturdy, a little dab of oil will make it perfect. Looks like it has not been even sharpened. So this ended up being a real bargain! :cool: :spyder:

been away for few years, but got the "bug-bite" after seeing this in a local ebay. Had to act! :cool:
Looks genuine to me, but I would be happy to get 2nd opinions if this really is a C01, and what year it might be.

Got back from LA last night. Went to Plaza Cutlery, REI and Recon1. All definitely worth visiting!
Bought stuff from Recon1 and Plaza and received _very good_ service in both. Plaza guys threw in a t-shirt after hearing I had come such a long way. At Recon1 they helped me to get the items I asked ...

can you post some more pictures of that orange D4? looks to me like a really cool dye job on a white D4, regardless i really like that shade of orange, kinda like a cream color orange.

I am not familiar with the Puukko design, but I know a fine knife when I see one. The fit and finish on this model was superb. IIRC the handle is desert ironwood, but perhaps someone else can chime in on that. I was talking to Eric about making more small fixed blades and this is a nice example of ...

hi, sorry for the delay.. I just got round to investigate the knife again. For me, it just took a good squirt of Ballistol and some flicking open/closed to get it smooth. So if there was something extra in there, it got "massaged" away and the surfaces got some good lubricant niceness to them ...

I'll do better than that - I have my friend's 1st Spydie :D
Managed to trade it from him this weekend..

He got that Executive waaaay back and it has been edc'd a lot. It was also the 1st Spydie I ever saw. I like the way it shows its age. The blade is in good condition still. Goes to show that ...
