Even then, when using the blade at the lanyard end you're either going to need to grip the knife so the lanyard trails back in your hand, or else it will be flopping around and potentially interfering with your cutting.

Wouldn't a lanyard be problematic on a knife with blades at both ends? Seems like it would have to interfere with one or the other.
