Re: What would you like to see next from Byrd?
I'd also like to see fully serrated versions of the Cara Cara, Harrier, and Meadowlark as well as waved versions of them.

Re: How did you discover Spyderco?
In the early 2000's, I started lurking around Bladeforums and noticed there was a buzz about the Emerson Wave. I always wanted one but could never bring myself to spend that kind of money one one. Then the Endura 4 Wave came out and I snatched one up. That was my gateway to Spyderco's. Then I starte...

Re: Loosen stiff CC2 & ML2?
I must have gotten one of the lemons because mine is stiff...like it feels like something is grinding when i deploy the blade. Its so stiff that I nearly slip my thumb off sometimes when deploying it, almost cutting myself. Ii always thought it was normal for the ML2 until i read this thread. If I'd...

Re: Byrd Cara Cara Lovers
I'd love to have a fully serrated Cara Cara (non rescue) or an Emerson Wave Cara Cara. I think either of those would be a big hit.

Re: what would ancient people think of Byrd knives?
I would think that any folding knife in dark age Europe would have been seen as a stealth weapon for assassins since they're much more easily concealable than daggers or fixed blades.

Mine is definitely much stiffer. I wish it would swing freely because I cannot flick the knife open even with significant wrist action, like I can with the Cara Cara 2. Just got a Meadowlark in G10 over the weekend and just like the OP and others I am very impressed. Fit and finish is imacculate and...

Hello Sal! It's an honor to speak to you. I'm a big fan. Anyhow, Spyderco serrations are the only ones I like, I won't buy a serrated knife of any other brand. They just don't work as well. I already have the full size Byrd Wings that I carry on my duty belt for cutting seat belts and utility use. H...

It's snagging becasuse there is a burr in some spots along the edge. A shortcut and the easy way to remove that burr without having to spend anymore money is the following. Take that blade and increase the angle slightly, instead of the blade being straight up and down. Using the UF STONES increase...

I'm having the same problem. I have the Sharpmaker, including the UF stones, but I can't seem to duplicate the factory edge. While my Tenacious will shave arm hair, it won't push cut newsprint like my other newer knives. It snags and tears unless I hold it at an angle and draw the blade across the p...

I would never do it for 3 reasons: 1) My knife isn't usually clean enough to eat with since I use it for EDC tasks like opening boxes and mail. I'd have to get up from the table, go to the restroom and wash off the blade with hot soapy water. 2) I don't want to ruin my edge with a hard plate. 3) Aft...

I had the same problem. There were three issues: 1) I needed to clean all the lint out of the knife with a q-tip and oil the pivot / liner lock. 2) I had to loosen the pivot to the point where the blade would drop on it's own when I pushed the liner aside. Be careful when you do this as there is no ...
