Review: Spyderco Resilience after 8yrs

Spyderco Resilience after 8yrs: NB: Some hunting/gore pics below: Resilience by name, resilience by nature? I bought this knife from Heinnie Haynes on 14/10/2014 for £43.95. It's one of their cheaper, Chinese made folders. Plain edged, 8Cr13MoV steel, long leaf-shaped, drop-point blade with full-fla...

Re: Warrior: not just a one-trick pony. Mini-review.

It's nearly 10 years since I wrote the original review, above. The Warrior has continued to serve me well as a general purpose knife. I live by the sea so it sees it's fair share of salt water (kayak-fishing, beach BBQ etc.) and has shown no signs of corrosion, as you'd hope. https://i.postimg.cc/59...

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

I got called to do a humane dispatch of a pair of entangled bucks in someone’s garden. One was already dead. Discreetly shot the other (suppressed 300Blackout). Gralloched and butchered with Warrior and Resilience. The serrations on the spine of the Warrior were useful for freeing the antlers as the...

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?

Yesterday I swapped and zero'd the scope on a .22LR rifle. Tonight I nipped out and bagged a couple of rabbits with it. PM2 K390 did the knife duties. https://i.postimg.cc/8c6z4Pj8/F8-CC8-B43-F840-46-BE-8-D3-D-0-B2-E783-B6789.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/sgRvnSYT/00-A64-D8-C-9595-4-A49-9-A5-B-1-D2-E47-E...

Put a (crude) “true” scandi edge on the WolfSpyder and whittled a couple of try-sticks/trigger:

Carves beautifully with the zero edge but it may not hold up.

That is the Edge Photo of the Year!!! Beautifully done!
Thanks but if you look closely you’ll see it’s actually a bit of a mess!

I received a Wolfspyder in the post yesterday, so spent the evening roughing out a serving spoon type thing.
Looks very nice! What kind of wood?
I’m embarrassed to admit I don’t know. It has quite a twist to it, like hornbeam, though easier to carve than that.

Re: Airport security meet my Spydie!

They gave it back? **** no! My knife was confiscated as a matter of course. I was more concerned about the arrestable offence of carrying a locking blade "without good reason", let alone taking it on an international flight. I'd been shooting a revolver (Ruger SuperRedhawk) the day before...

Great knives! I picked up a second which had a hairline crack in the handle. I repaired and refinished it- it's still going strong. http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i10/xavierdoc/P1040842.jpg http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i10/xavierdoc/P1030577.jpg Now take it out and get it dirty! http://i68.p...

Re: Knife Review: The Spyderco Tatanka folder (5" blade – VG-10)

Subwoofer- a detailed write-up on the technicalities of the knife and its design, thank you. Personally, I'm much more interested in how it functions in protracted, heavy (for a folder) use. I'd also like to know how it carries in actual use. I'm a big fan of the Tuff and the Resilience but my go-to...
