To the best of my knowledge thats the production sheath. There is no problem with tthe draw and finger placement, there is a very slight adjustment, but nothing that practice won't cure for a production sheath it rates very good to excellent.

It appears that I committed a Forum sin. Showing a photo of a knife on the Forum from another manufacture. The Pikuni was a Rob Simonich design manufactured by REKAT. The only reason it was shown was to illustrate a double knife in a sheath. The double knife in the sheath configuration was made by M...

Pygmy Warrior Update T&E
Let’s keep this thread on topic. The Warrior Knife history and MDE history has been well covered in the other threads. The latest Pygmy sample I received from Spyderco was a production model for evaluation of both the knife and sheath. The workmanship on the knife was excellent with matching grind l...

Hi all The last I heard from Sal the hang up has been the sheath. The final pre production sample I got was perfect including the execution on the stackable handles. Seeing the weakest link of a CQB blade is the human hand this allows the user to adjust the grip to maximize their grip. This is espec...

Dr. Detroit Mike won’t release the pictures. When Mike Janich sent me the photos for the Warrior Path book he had a picture of the Stealth and at my request was removed. If the knife never makes it to production then it will remain a mystery. All of Mike Sastre’s Warrior sheaths can be worn inverted...

Tribune Just out of curiosity what is you opinion of the book. Mike worked his butt off and we did at least three major edits and a few minor edits here and there. We could have done a couple of more but enough is enough. Was the history what you heard through the grape vine and were there any major...

All good points you brought up. The method is usually called reverse grip. And the teeth are for both trapping and creating a nasty wound channel one that causes rapid loss of blood which knives and arrows achieve their desired effect. Cutting meat is a good standard for a combat knife if you attack...

The Skinny While working on the Warrior Book. Sal and I left Mike to shoot pictures as we made a pizza run. When we returned Mike was looking at the Pigmy and I told him that was not in the Warrior History therefore not to be photographed. If you have spent any time around Mike you know that glassy ...

This morning I had three Emails about the SWAT article on the Warrior knife and thought here we go again, someone who little or nothing wrote an article they shouldn’t. Through the years I have seen plastic and wood trainers being sold as the original prototypes from which the AL MAR version was con...

ChicagoRay I have never seen Kenny Rowe’s sheath work. Looks high class and befitting the class of a Damascus Hobbit. Nice to see someone who takes pride and their gear. Being more a person I have all my carry gear made my Kydex genius Mike Sastre of River City Sheaths His Southern Comfort Bowie is ...

Spyderco and 2cha come through for America’s Veterans.
As you all know the auction for the Spyderco Soldier of Fortune Police Model was a huge success. I mentioned to Sal and Kristi that the Spyderco forum is a special place with special people. After driving up the bids and winning the knife, 2cha sent me an email stating “he was doing this for the Vet...

The knife came from a street knife class I taught at SOF in 1994. I am currently looking to see if I have one of the plastic Spyderco Police trainers that was used in the course to toss into the kitty that’s 50/50 at best seeing my barn looks like it’s been fragged a dozen times. I will keep looking...

Boxer93 There wasn’t a Stand Down in Sandpoint until the members of the local VVA and VFW got it going. I will check out how to get one going if you’re interested. You might call the contact number at the closest Stand Down to you. If that link works then there are a number of contacts listed which ...
