Here's an old pic. Sorry it doesn't include a pumpkin. I use this pic as my avitar.

Re: Completely Forgotten Spyderco Models: Your Favorites?

Hey JD,

The Golden Meerkat was only made with the leaf blade and I think in plain edge.

Re: Completely Forgotten Spyderco Models: Your Favorites?

Okay here's a few I'd miss if I didn't buy one or two or:

Scopius
Progrip/ Venator
Viele
Persian
Lava
Mouse

There are so many more. JD knows I'm with him on old school. I don't really know why though there are no Military, PM 2's or 3's in my collection.

Re: Spyderco model ID

Pro Venator.jpg I think I own too many knives. The more I think I know about Spyderco, the more I question what I think I know. I thought I'd throw out a bit of curiosity I've found on this model. I have a few of the old Venators, many NIB, all with the same bar code, one with a date of 03/99 with ...

Re: What happened to the Native III moulds?

Funny, I never noticed the Sal makers mark on the FRN. This knife became my EDC about a year and a half ago so that I could really try a CE blade. I've grown to appreciate both the blade and the molded scales since the VG-10 is easy to keep sharp and the scales give great purchase even when wet. I'v...

Re: Most Fidget Friendly Knife

I don't fidget much either, though to break a knife in I will cycle it until it feels smooth to me. One of my favorites is the Meerkat. Just a pinch of the scales, slight movement of the wrist and the blade opens or closes effortlessly.

Re: Names of certain models - do they have any impact (on perception, sales, associations..);which names "fit" which don

I'll jump in with names that fit the design: Dodo (with it's hooked bill), Snap-it ( because of the quick snap), Captain ( plain edge beefy re-curve) if SE ( should be called the Crew or Sailor for hard work), Co-Pilot and Navigator ( since it was supposed to fly with you), Spydercard (since shaped ...

Re: Please Help With Spyderco Knife ID

The Moteng is one of the nicer ones that contain no letters/company name/ or trade mark. When Spyderco won the Blade of the Year, Blade magazine offered their own Q sequentially numbered for $10.00 each.

I tried to copy a scan of the Blade magazine cover though couldn't. Sorry..... July 1995 edition

Re: Model #?

Just a bit more information on Q's with no real purpose. Jabba, I'd take a Dino knife too! When the Q's were introduced it must have been a fast and furious time for Spyderco. Who would have thought a small niche knife would ever garner so much attention. Farming work out prior to getting their own ...

Re: Model #?

il_794xN.1710488500_syd6.jpg Deacon may very well be right with the blade swap thoughts. I got many roughs and a few finished blades without scales from an ex-employee of GBC. GBC is the company that Spyderco originally contracted with to cut Q blades. This employee had five gallon buckets of cut a...

Hi Donna, I think I remember two different designs for the Coor's knife and this being one of them. I live just down the road from Wilson Peak near Telluride, Colorado. Wilson Peak is the mountain pictured on Coor's products.I could be wrong but I don't think so. Please check out this link : https:/...

Re: How to get more women/females into Spyderco?

This has been fairly easy for me since my wife and most of her friends are outdoorsy. They are into horses, camping, and hiking. Me being into knives got my wife involved to an extent. Early on she carried a Mouse or Dragonfly, and now carries a Squeak after misplacing the other two. We live in the ...

Re: Heirloom Spyders?

Thinking of heirlooms, I'm not sure that these knives would mean the same thing to my heirs as they do to me, even though I have heirs that have interests in knives. Here is my list that means a lot to me. 2 screw Worker All Q's Original R Kopa's Kiwi's 40th Anniversary Native World Trade Center Kni...
