I want to see the Stainless Steel Jester with a blade from S30V.
Anybody with me ?
This could be a real hit i think, especially with the trend nowadays for smaller blade politically correct pocket-knives.
Somewhere in the Spyderfactory they must have a big pile of S30V scraps which they could use ...

I am amazed how much was talked about my post regarding the Dyad's.
It has never been my intention to make a quick buck here, believe me in this.
As said, i am a collector just as most folks here and i wasnt aware of the possibility to send someone a personal message, but then again i also did not ...

Who makes the best S30V ?
I was just wondering about S30V, which company makes the best nowadays ?
Could this be Chris Reeve who runs it fairly soft or Paul Bos for Buck and Strider who makes it a few points harder.
Or ofcourse, our favourite Spyderco themselves who also runs it in the same regions as Reeve does.

Factory Sharpening
I was just wondering how sharpening at the Spyderco factory is done.
Do they use special machines for this or is also some elbow-grease involved ?
Can this machinery, if used,be bought commercially?
:) Also i have noticed that the edge-angle on the Paramillie has changed, the first one i saw was ...

Sharpening Global knives
Hello from Holland
I work in an internetshop http://www.knivesandtools.com , and we sell and sharpen global knives on a weekly basis, this is my 2 cents about sharpening them.
Most globals have a convex edge and sharpen very good using several slow machines so we don't burn the temper.

gritsize of spyderco benchstones
Does anyone know the exact gritsize of the Spyderco Benchstones in Medium,Fine and Ultrafine ?
This would be of help to me, as i need this info for a client who is a professional ice-skater and he is discovering our beloved brand :) also, in this case for sharpening his ice-skates.
Thanks in advance.

Better steel voor jester & co
To whom it may concern;
wouldn't it be great to have jesters and the like in VG10 or S30V, i would think Spyderco has a mountain of scraps from both steels.
There would definitly be a market for this.
Opinions anyone?

paramilitary question
recently i aquired the new paramilitary (new in holland that is), besides from the obvious good looks and probable usefulness it had quite a lot of play on the pivot point, not on the compression lock itself.
i returned to my wholesaler only to see that all of the paramilitaries he had had the same ...

i've read and understood all your explanations but i still think that the civvie would benefit from a slightly thickened point, about as thick as kwaks skull i can hear you all think imho in that way it could save my butt longer.
thanks again for all your input guys
and to all a goodnight from holland

QUESTION ON THE CIVILIAN
CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY THE POINT OF THE CIVILIAN IS SO INCREDIBLY THIN.
I CAN SEE THAT IN THIS WAY IT WILL PENETRATE MORE EASILY BUT IT IS ALSO MUCH MORE PRONE TO DAMAGE.
IMHO THE CIVVIE AND OFCOURSE ALSO THE MATRIARCH WOULD BENEFIT FROM A STRONGER TIP DESIGN LIKE THE HARPY.
MAYBE I AM SEEING ...

improvement on my millie!
my millie an older 2 screw type that is being used every day the last 4 years developed blade play and loss of stiffness in the handle, and this one has no eccentric pivot pin.
i took the knife apart, cleaned it thoroughly
and put it back together again using 2 component epoxyresin on the stop pin ...
