That Nidhug looks very much like one of the discontinued Lansky knives. I never owned that one, but still have the hawkbill.

Been here about 16 years now. I too remember when there were lots of threads on using knives for defense...and maybe even for combat.

The S.P.OT. is one of my favorite knives. I'd in up for another one.

The S.P.O.T. is very under appreciated, in my opinion.

I am not interested in the steel much either as long as it has at least the corrosion resistance of VG10. So, Magnacut would work for me.

I would prefer the original blade shape and not a wharncliffe.

Actually, I should say it was my favorite folder of the ones the are at some point going into production. There were a couple others that I liked a lot that may or may not be made.

I handled it at the Taipei Meet last November. It is smaller, but it felt good in my hands. Perhaps a person's hand size makes a difference.

Any progress on a fixed blade hawkbill? Maybe I missed something.

Salt Wharncliff works well for me.
No one has ever been scared of it and some have admired it. The knife is easy to clean and easy to sharpen.
