I've heard from Knifecenter.com that the ladybug is coming out later in 2013 in superblue. Does anyone have a time frame on this? I would definitely buy a dragonfly in SB. Unlike a lot of you above, I don't hunt and am not in law enforcement. Instead, I work in a college environment and deal with ma...

Has anyone from the company verified the intended production of this man bug? I heard from Knifecenter.com that one was introduced at the 2011 SHOT show. Does anyone know if there's any truth to this rumor? In addition, it would be great to hear about production schedules and prototype pictures woul...

Toughness/Strength of kiwi

Hi to all, I'm considering buying a kiwi for EDC in a university environment--i.e., lots of sheeple. Frequently, I must open cardboard mailers that hold a book or two. Would a kiwi hold up well for this kind of use/abuse? I also have a MeerKat, but would prefer the slightly more slender profile of t...

Clip removal for meerkat

Please tell me what type of screwdriver is needed to remove the clip on the meerkat. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the pictures, Joyce. The kiwi looks gorgeous! Any idea what its length closed is? I personally would prefer it without a pocket clip, since it would be used as a gentleman's pocket knife if it's not too big. Generally, I don't spend $100 plus on a knife, but in this case I may make an exc...

Thanks for the PDR, Joyce! Your marketing values seem to follow your knife production closely--they, too, are sharp. I'd be curious to know when the jester will be released and if there are plans for a material other than FRN. A stainless handle would make a nice gentleman's knife, although the stee...

Thanks for the idea Rookie! I did purchase a Meerkat, and do carry it everywhere but at school. I would still like to get a smaller, sturdy knife with a closed length around 2.75". The ladybug would be fine, but I don't like combo-edges. Something the size of a cricket would be great except for...

I sympathize with your question. I'm in a college environment and don't dare carry anything with a tactical look to it. I like the cricket but am concerned about carrying it due to its reverse-S curve. I wonder whether SpyderCo would consider a variation of it with a different blade style. I'd buy i...

I'm very impressed with the sense of community on this forum and th...

More specifically: how about a folder with the closed length of a Cricket, VG-10 steel, but without the reverse-S shape to the blade. I work in a college environment where anything that resembles a tactical weapon is strongly frowned upon.

Thanks for the pictures and detailed comparison, Sharp1. (Thanks for the welcome, Carlos.) I will probably buy the meercat for now and get the navigator later. Does anyone know if the VG-10 navigator is available, yet? Also...Sal, is there any chance that the meercat will be available in a higher qu...

Request for meercat vs. navigator pix

Would anyone be able to post an image showing a meercat and navigator side-by-side? I'm curious about the relative sizes, and have had trouble finding both of these in my area.

Thanks in advance!
