Fixed blades are outlawed by the BSA. My suggestion would be a Delica 4 or Salt 1. If you're camping near water often, I'd definitely get a Salt 1 SE.

As a former scout leader and Eagle Scout, I used to tell parents to buy an inexpensive knife for a boys first knife. Inexpensive being less than $20. You can find a decent Victorinox at Walmart for that price. Anyway the reason for an inexpensive knife is because it's going to get lost. I've seen it ...

First Sage, Which One?

Ok, I'm ready to take the Sage plunge. I've narrowed it down to the 1 or 2 and wondered what everyone prefers and or recommends.

You can pick up a sage 1 these days for around 85-90. You can pick up the satin blade para 2 for anywhere from 95-110. Almost equal in value, though the para 2 is a but more sought after. If you really want the sage 1, go for it, but if you tried to execute that same trade yourself, you may find it ...

Wow, I feel exactly the opposite of you. The mini grip was my first over $50 knife. I bought it because of the positive internet chatter on BF. Well, I couldn't have been more disappointed. I'm not trying to discount your opinion; it just didn't do it for me. Since then I've discovered my all time ...

I thought S35 was going to replace S30 as the standard steel on the Para 2. If that's the case, no need to get stressed out about getting one as wont be a spirit run.
