Re: Spyderco Army Knife

I agree that both Leatherman and Victorinox make excellent multi-tools. I have several Leathermans that I use on a near-daily basis, as well as my trusty Gerber Multi-Plier. The only problem is that they don't say "Spyderco" on the handles. All kidding aside, I would gladly pay a premium for a new G...

Re: Where is Blerv?

I believe Blerv is alive and well, based on some brief conversations I had with him on Instagram recently. Roman (BH49) sent me a note a year or so ago to thank me for our friendship and to let me know he was leaving the forum. I sure do miss that guy. IIRC, Marcus also announced his decision to lea...

Re: Mcbee after carry?

https://i.imgur.com/GilExrM.jpg My wife surprised me with a McBee this past Christmas and it quickly became a favorite. It is a very functional design, despite its size. I have big hands (size XL+ in gloves), but I don’t have any issues opening/closing it one-handed. It fits perfectly in the coin p...

Re: Reveal 6 Live!

Very cool reveal! Almost every page had me saying, “I need one of those.” I mean, a re-birth of the Small-Fly?! A Tenacious in S35VN?! A Sage in Maxamet?! And that awesome Colorado-themed PM2?! Oh, and let’s not forget those sweet looking Salts on page one! Well, I can easily see this is going to be...

Re: Happy Birthday SpyderNut!!!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes! Really do appreciate that very much. Had a great time taking a nature hike on a new trail in NW Ohio with my wife. The weather was perfect. We then came home for some Italian take-out and some of my wife’s delicious cinnamon coffee cake.

Re: How to cancel account?

In agreement with the others, I would encourage you to reconsider canceling your account. There are several alternative options mentioned above that would likely help. If nothing else, maybe take some time to think about it before pulling the trigger? I’m sure you already have, but sometimes a week ...

Re: Blazinblades.com

I haven’t ordered from them, but they certainly have a healthy supply of older, hard-to-find Spydie models. Tempted on a few. They have the orange Dodo Sprint for like $450.

Re: Advice for new knife designers

A lot of good suggestions here. The cool thing is, one really doesn't need much to get started in knife designing or even knifemaking. CAD is a wonderful tool, but it isn't necessary. I still prefer to draw designs by hand using paper and pencil, but that's just a personal preference. Purchase a dec...

Re: Should I be concerned about cleaning my microtech?

Agree with the others, I wouldn't submerge an OTF in water for the reasons mentioned. Microtech also uses proprietary fasteners on a number of their autos to help discourage ELUs from taking them apart.

Re: Polestar lock enought solid?

Welcome to the forum, Jull! Nice to have you here. There are a lot of good suggestions here that will likely suit your needs. For what it’s worth, though, I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the Polestar. The quality is definitely there, and I’ve had no issues with the lock. (Granted, I haven’t used...

Re: Is MATTHEWS still any good?

Hey guys I got an archery Question to ask you all. For reasons of all the knee & shoulder surgeries I've had in the past four years it's been a while since I've bow hunted. I had a "Matthews FX" which was a really nice bow that I used to hunt with. But I know that since I bought that Matthews FX ( ...

It’s a good thought. Spyderco came out with something similar to what you’re describing for LE a few years ago (but it was made in Japan; of course): https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C11FBLM/715

Re: Any archery nuts here?

Decided to bump this old thread to see if we’ve got any new/old archery fans in here? I recently purchased a new bow to replace my ancient Martin Prowler. It’s been several years since I last shot, but it’s been a lot of fun getting back into this past-time pleasure of mine. My wife (an avid archer ...
