Re: 1st spiderco

Welcome to the forum, Scott. Nice to have you here. You really can’t go wrong with either of the two models you mentioned. I don’t know if this makes a difference, but the Manix is a larger knife and will take up a bit more pocket space as compared to the Native. The G-10 Manix will be heavier than ...

Re: So, how are you staying busy during the lockdown?

Nothing too much out of the ordinary. Just spending more time with my wife and two dogs and also a bit more time making knives.

Re: Back locks with edges going all the way to the handle

It’s definitely worth a shot, but it would also depend on the type of lock or folding mechanism used. On a slip-joint or lock-back design, the kick needs to remain in place on the blade so that it prevents the Blade’s edge and tip from contacting the back of the handle. However, reducing the kick a...

They have "senior hours" over here that allows people over 60 to shop before the store opens to combat this
Yes, I’ve heard our area might do the same. Not a bad idea at all.

Re: Has the Coronavirus affected your daily life?

Other than having to cancel a few medical appointments and a surgery, it hasn’t bothered me too much. Not yet, anyway. What does bother me is that our local authorities decided to close all of our restaurants today—until early/mid-April. I love my food, so this was definitely a setback. At least we...

Re: Pick a first Benchmade

I’ve always had a soft spot for Benchmade. I really like the Mini-Grip, Impel, Crooked River, AFCK, and 350 Pardue. Might get a Mini-Bugout before too long. Another BM that’s really caught my interest recently is the 601 Tengu flipper. I’m not a huge fan of flippers or knives without pocket clips, b...

Re: Apple Watch

Some folks When I tried the watch on in the store last year my wrist was burning and itchy when I took it off but I had no rash or blistering then it went away after a while Is that normal or was it on too tight Some folks are sensitive to certain metals touching their skin. I once had a co-worker w...

Re: Microtech Socoms

Congrats on your new Socom, OP! I have a feeling you’ll love it. I have one in the Apocalyptic finish and I absolutely love it. It reminds me somewhat of a beefed up Millie; very sturdy, but lightweight. It is also buttery smooth and opens like a dream. I’ll try to post a pic. Thanks, SN! Id love t...

Do you have to plug it in via a Lightening port?
It's an induction (magnetic) charging pad.

I have one I leave on my bedside table and one I take when I travel.
That is good to know. Thanks again for the info, Tom.

Re: Apple Watch

I suppose you're a iPhone user? I have a Samsung Gear S3 /Samsung Galkaxy S10, got tired of iPhoneOS after iPhone 5S, up until and including that one i had every iPhone model, but again got fed up with Apples walled garden iPhone OS. So i guess - if you use iPhone, the iWatch is probably the best s...

Welcome aboard! My wife finally gave up and became an enabler 😂
Mine too! I love it when she’s like, “Do you have this one? If not, I found a good deal on one NIB... :D
Do you think she'd be willing to teach my wife how to do that? :p :D
You bet! I’m sure she’d be willing to help. 😂
