Re: What do you want in a new Salt knife?

I want it to look EXACTLY like current Thin Blue Line Enduras: NO bulbous tips; NO enlarged thumb hole. Just a sleek, good looking corrosion proof knife.

Flat ground in H1 if possible with a combo edge.

Not a big fan of Wharncliffs. But there are exceptions.

Black lock bar and screws are a nice extra.

I must be the only one to not like that. Looks good for all black, but not with a satin blade.
Spyderco probably did this to make it harder to produce fakes.

Re: Pacific Salt 2

I personally hope Eric is right, for I think a thicker E 4 handle must be great.
Despite what Eric says, the Pac2 handle is NOT thicker than the E4 handle, so you’ll be disappointed.

I, on the other hand, am happy about this.

Re: Delica & Tasman blade swap

Not sure how many people want a dragonfly h1 karambit with a wave? Why not? Spyderco makes a lot of models every year which are not popular, and get blown out at discount prices at the end of the year. Adding a dragonfly karambit to this mix would be no different, and they wouldn’t have to pay roya...

Re: Delica & Tasman blade swap

I did this. It doesn’t work that well. I used a Tasman salt and wharncliffe delica 4. The wharncliffe blade does not fit into the salt handles. The Tasman fits into the delica handles, but here’s the thing with the Wiseman ring: the tip hits the aluminum ring back spacer, dulling the tip, so you hav...

Hey! You’re right!

But too bad my order also contains a Dragonfly 2 V-Toku2. I guess I won’t be seeing my Calypso Jr. until next year, lol!

Re: Dragonfly H1 Hawkbill for self defence

To both answer your question and validate your point, see news for "BART train neck stabbing," which happened a couple days ago. NOBODY would have been able to predict this. Poor women! Just a random thought I had while browsing this thread.... How much training do you think the average kn...

Re: Dragonfly H1 Hawkbill for self defence

I don’t know about moving grapes, but I like Doug Mercado's suggestion that you never let your opponent know you have a knife until he actually moves in to attack you: then you pull it out as an element of surprise for self defense. He was using a karambit as his prime example. That being said, I’ve...

776A2DB0-C400-401E-BFE4-EE54F64F1117.jpeg It works and it doesn’t. Opening is fast and secure; still getting used to the handle distance. But when closed, the tip of the hawkbill rubs against the signet ring. This will dull the tip eventually. Wonder if this is the same for the Matriarch with signe...

Re: LC200N Caribbean

I think you’d be "chopping yourself up." That’s my middle finger in there. I can’t fit my index finger there. 22C06416-37C8-4E64-AF70-4E35CBCBC0C0.jpeg So normally I'd close a compression lock by letting the choil fall on my index finger (lefty). Is there enough space on the caribbean or a...

Re: LC200N Caribbean

It is a little disappointing honestly. I think we all had a lot of enthusiasm for Lc200n precisely because it would just as corrosion resistant as h1 but be stronger. If it's stronger but less corrosion resistant then for me it is a downgrade from H1. At least it is a solvable issue of galvanic cor...

Re: Spyderco Ultratech Blade Division Proposal

The application for whatever they find in this division can be cross applied to other fields. For example, I know Spyderco dabbles in the sailing industry. I'm sure our military would be interested in what is produced as well. From a purely selfish perspective, producing the ultimate OTF without bla...
