I think everyone will agree that the police 3 is a much refined design based on the original Police. I am wondering whether there's a plan to upgrade the current SS line to the new design. Yup, VG-10 would be just fine. Also, if the lock's retention power for heavy blades is a issue, will a ballbearing lock do the trick? Personally, I would be just fine with the use of VG-10 steel. Just throw in some G10 handles, a Compression Lock, Nested stainless steel liners, and call it a wrap. :D

since the new police model will be "screwed" instead of rivetted, how about making interchangable SS/G10/CF slabs and let we spyderco fans use our own imagination?

Really? Cause I dont like the smooth slippery bump-less grip-less jimping-less (did I say slipery) ness of the SS Police. :p ;) ;) I like my SS Police. But I like it because it is a massive shiny gigantic purdy lump of steel, that is Beautiful and a Classic , That and Denzel had it in Training Day....

Just love that smooth touch and the slimness of the SS police!!!
