Hi Lumpy,

The Watu is made in Taichung, Taiwan so we more than likely use a USA steel like 52100 instead of Supere Blue, or some other USA made steel.

Hi Sal,

Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!

I picked up the Super Blue Gyuto for 20% off when they were first released... It's the best kitchen knife I own (even beat out my Kramer/Zwilling carbon santoku) and easily my most used Spyderco. If it's in your budget, don't sleep on this! Ok, back to your regularly scheduled knife sales. It's not...

Re: Cruwear micarta Bushcraft/Proficient

Sal, et al. Is there enough potential sales value in trying to make further use of the Taichung investment that made these machined handles possible? The Proficient didn't sell all that fast and unless its possible to make some changes that reduce manufacturing cost then I don't see a reason a new ...

Re: Spyderco Face Mask (now bandana, hat and patch)

Hi Dazen, Masks are becoming a bit of an issue as to their function. I've recently hear that the visors that re being used are not effective. The plexiglass pieces used for separation are also not effective. Two layer masks are not effective. Three layers minimum. Most masks with three or more laye...

Re: Enuff Drop Point/Leaf in LC200N PE

I'm excited for this knife. I really like the Enuff ergonomics, but the small thick blade limits use for me... even 0.5 inches longer and a little thinner would make this a real winner!

Re: Please Pardon the shameful sales pitch - Rock Jumper

Hi, Thanx for all of the input. It's really appreciated. As I've said, this is a test piece. The "Handle forward" concept permits us to bring the edge to the handle. If the concept is well received, we'll make variations. We can add jimping on the spine in the future if that's what's wanted. We don...

Re: Are you EDC'ing your WATU...

I EDC the Watu now more than any other knife. It has kicked the Delica out of my pocket... it's just more slicey and easier to carry with the deep carry pocket clip. Also very thin in the pocket. A phenomenal knife. I hope they come out with some Sprint runs in Rex45.

Re: 1st Impressions Of The New SpyOpera

Too bad they excluded lefties. Oh well, bank account is happy with that, lol! Not sure what you mean... a back-lock is ambidextrous. That's one of the positive things about a back-lock. The pocket clip is right side, tip up only. Exactly, if I can’t carry it lefty an ambidextrous lock doesn’t mean ...

Re: Police HAP40 and Pakkawood: KC Exclusive

I bought a Pakkawood Delica last year, some time around late winter/early spring and it was the same price as it is now. I would assume the Endura held steady as well, but can't say that with any confidence. Anyway, this exclusive is calling my name. I still have a Police 4 G10 and use it a lot. I ...

Re: Kiwi 5?

I would love an original Kiwi (backlock, same blade shape with hollow grind and pointy tip) but in the size of the Kiwi 3 (slightly larger than the original) and with a pocket clip (like the Kiwi 4)! A hybrid of all, but in the same great ergonomics and blade as the original.

Re: Affordable fixed blade (AFK)

Hi Carrot, Cycleguy, Thanx for the input. We'll make up an "Enuff 2" proto with 3mm stock and a 4" blade. As long as the handle doesn't change, there is little tooling costs for the handle. Tooling up for an FRN sheath would be expensive, but we'll make Kydex (Boltaron) sheaths for testing. The Fix...

Re: Schempp Rock 'Chopper' idea

What about a tool steel? I have the original custom that Ed made with 52100 and carbon handle. sal I'd be happy in pretty much any steel. And I imagine a 6mm chunk of H1 might be prohibitively expensive. Perhaps some type of laminate steel? I know Fallkniven's very tough S1/A1/A2 knives uses a 420j...

Re: Rock Jumper Thread

Hmmm looks like this one needs a hawkbill version too! Oh yes! I probably won't buy the Rock Jumper because it's too similar to the warncliff Delica I already have, but a hawkbill version of this would be awesome. Similar to the Superhawk, but better because there isn't a choil, and in lightweight ...

Re: Watu...AKA Lil Chokwe

Mine arrived today. Totally awesome!

I think this might kick the Delica out of my pocket... it's superior in many ways... more neutral grip, pointy tip, thinner grind, deep carry wire clip. The only thing missing is a black wire clip, which is easily remedied.

I use my Temp 2 outside quite a bit. It works well. Eric has been talking about making a Temp 2 in Golden. Same scales, What steel?

For U.S. based Carbon steel, I would advocate for Rex45, O1, or Cruwear.
