Re: Kiwi 5?

I would love an original Kiwi (backlock, same blade shape with hollow grind and pointy tip) but in the size of the Kiwi 3 (slightly larger than the original) and with a pocket clip (like the Kiwi 4)! A hybrid of all, but in the same great ergonomics and blade as the original.

Re: Affordable fixed blade (AFK)

Hi Carrot, Cycleguy, Thanx for the input. We'll make up an "Enuff 2" proto with 3mm stock and a 4" blade. As long as the handle doesn't change, there is little tooling costs for the handle. Tooling up for an FRN sheath would be expensive, but we'll make Kydex (Boltaron) sheaths for testing. The Fix...

Re: Schempp Rock 'Chopper' idea

What about a tool steel? I have the original custom that Ed made with 52100 and carbon handle. sal I'd be happy in pretty much any steel. And I imagine a 6mm chunk of H1 might be prohibitively expensive. Perhaps some type of laminate steel? I know Fallkniven's very tough S1/A1/A2 knives uses a 420j...

Re: Rock Jumper Thread

Hmmm looks like this one needs a hawkbill version too! Oh yes! I probably won't buy the Rock Jumper because it's too similar to the warncliff Delica I already have, but a hawkbill version of this would be awesome. Similar to the Superhawk, but better because there isn't a choil, and in lightweight ...

Re: Watu...AKA Lil Chokwe

Mine arrived today. Totally awesome!

I think this might kick the Delica out of my pocket... it's superior in many ways... more neutral grip, pointy tip, thinner grind, deep carry wire clip. The only thing missing is a black wire clip, which is easily remedied.

I use my Temp 2 outside quite a bit. It works well. Eric has been talking about making a Temp 2 in Golden. Same scales, What steel?

sal
For U.S. based Carbon steel, I would advocate for Rex45, O1, or Cruwear.

Re: Cruwear micarta Bushcraft/Proficient

We're looking into it. Is the Bushcraft blade shape preferred over the Proficient blade shape. Both were designed by Chris Claycomb. sal I prefer the blade shape of the Bushcraft (less belly, more drop-point blade shape). I'd be curious if you could keep the shape of the bushcraft blade, but do a F...

Re: Hap 40 Delica thread

Curious of people's thoughts on the Hap40 Delica now that a bunch o' time has passed and with all the other options available. How are ya'll liking the Hap40 Delica as opposed to ZDP, Vtoku2, and whatever other tasty steel choices are out there? Best knife and steel combination on the market withou...

Re: Chaparral LW vs. (new) BM Mini Bugout

I've only ever bought one Benchmade; the Bugout. I love the blade, ergonomics, thin profile... but I will never buy another Benchmade. In the first 12-18 months of owning the Bugout I've had three warranty issues, including needing to send it in twice. Once for a bent clip and twice more for broken ...

Re: KC Exclusive Shaman Rosewood REX 45

Well, I gave the KC exclusive Shaman a try, but I'm sad to say I'm returning it. I was excited when this came out because I like my Pakkawood Delica, and Rex45 is one of my favorite steels. I don't mind the look or the feel of the Dymondwood handle scale materials on this Shaman, but what really bot...

Re: Wire clip replacement for purchase?

Doesn't bother me to have to call Spyderco to get a replacement clip. I'm glad I can at least to do that. I was just curious why they wouldn't just put it on their Spyderco website. But not a big deal. Thanks for the responses!

Re: Wire clip replacement for purchase?

Yep, just ordered a black wire clip and black “regular” clip for both my Para 3 LW and Delica 4. Service was outstanding, shipping somewhat quick, ordered Sunday received Friday. Call the following number... 800-525-7770 X107 Great, thanks! This is good to know... I wonder why they don't just list ...

Wire clip replacement for purchase?

I know this has been discussed on the forum before, but honestly I have never really paid attention... I'm wondering if there are replacement clips for purchase through Spyderco? For example, if a knife come with a sliver wire clip (e.g. on the upcoming Watu), and I want to replace it with a black w...

Re: Watu...AKA Lil Chokwe

The original chokwe is a real slicer... amazingly ergonomic for the boxy coffin-shaped handle, and very thin blade with pointy tip (not a pry bar). The only issues I had with the original was that it was a bit too big for EDC (which the Watu solves), and the detent on the lock-bar wasn't very strong...

Re: KC Exclusive Shaman Rosewood REX 45

Yup... looking at the pictures on ebay, that's laminate. "Solid rosewood" laminate probably. That's fine with me... I've liked their Pakkawood series, and I'm game for this too.

Re: Watu...AKA Lil Chokwe

This is going to be an incredible knife... Delica size, but more compact in the pocket with slightly more blade/edge, deep carry wire clip, and no discrete choil but you're still able to choke up on the blade. An all around winner and incredible design. Thanks Spyderco!

Re: Watu...AKA Lil Chokwe

Love it! Its the only new knife I pre-ordered. Exactly what it should be. The only thing I would have changed is the steel... 20cv has too much chromium for my liking, but otherwise exactly what I was hoping for!

Re: TKJ Spyderco exclusive cruwear ????

MSRP is $335. MAP is no longer 35% off ($217.75), but only 30% off across all Spyderco knives... hence the price of $234.50. Nobody's unreasonably jacking up prices by the hour here.
