Re: High carbide/hardness serrations??

The 'work hardening' of H1/H2 has been debunked. You'll have to search to find more on that.

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2024 Report

I'm also skeptical of super thin bladestock. I do like my Z-Cut for trimming chicken fat. The blade flex helps with that. I don't like it for anything else. If you make a cut straight down the blade can flex suddenly upon hitting the cutting board because you needed some force and the blade didn't i...

Yeah I'd be interested in that or with Rex 121. Didn't they hint at Rex 121 being used on multiple models, not just the Sage 5 lightweight?

I'd curious but I kinda wish we could try this material in a different design. I'm thinking a 2" wharnie/ box cutter styled fixie.

I missed the Dack deal a month ago but I just ordered the Stretch 2 XL for about $95. Still the lowest price by a lot.

I regret selling the Tatanka! Would be cool to get another model with the Power Lock.

Re: Cheap diamond stones — you probably want some

Yeah they're decent and there are other brands or styles I've tried that also work pretty well. I will say that if you want a better sharpening experience, you need to mount a bare plate on wood or a thicker metal. If you mount these plates that have a thin foam backing, they flex and your edge will...

Guess they might add more inventory to this sale as they've done in prior years.

Re: A Gayle Bradley 2 in Cruwear!

Think there's any chance they'd resurrect the Bradley 1 folder for a sprint? Maybe crucarta that one? I'd definitely be in for a couple of those.. Is the tooling still available for those? Edit: spelling They've had exclusives and sprints of many models long after they were discontinued. I'd love t...

They should have done GB1 with M4, DLC and Jade scales! Come on BHQ.

Re: Spyderco Seconds Sale Scores

Native 5 Lightweight and Para 3 arrived. No issues that I can find other than the usual side to side play because of stepped pivot. The play is really only noticeable with lock disengaged.

Thanks, ABX. Can you recall the sloppy models? I’d like to name them above.
Native 5 Lightweight. Pretty sure another is the CQI Ikuchi. The original version had the tip somewhat exposed when closed. When they fixed that issue I think they also changed the pivot assembly.

Re: The Pivot Bushing

The side to side play with pivot fully tightened was something I encountered on a couple different models. So I stopped buying models with pivot bushings.

Re: Thin Edge Preservation

I had a worn out Atoma so I glued the plate on top. The Atoma is the same width as the plate. I just used Elmers and it held fine. Epoxy would work better if needed.
