Re: Still wishing for a Chaparral XL / Endela "thin edition" / or something along that lines

I'd be interested in a larger back lock with 2mm stock. However, I do question the market appeal for such a knife. Sal mentioned doing a high hollow run on an existing model to satisfy perormance oriented forumites. That sounds good to me. My experience agrees with others here that having a thin gri...

Re: RE: FFG H1 Pacific Salt just grind it

A few years ago BIg Chris did a regrind for me on a Pac Salt. It was ground to a high saber flat grind. Yes it was completely flat. The stock hollow grind is not especially deep. It cut very well of course but H1 plain edge holding is mediocre at best and was not improved from the regrind. I was hop...

Re: Bento Box Customer Service...

I think people get emotional over BBS because to some they seem like a bad actor. The fact is that while unsavory to some, their practices are apparently not illegal and furthermore are accepted if not supported by consumers. If not, they would go out of business. So if you feel outraged about BBS, ...

Re: Bento Box Customer Service...

2) I don’t see a ton of difference between returning to a dealer or a manufacturer. The dealer doesn’t throw the knife away and swallow the cost, they also return it. If it is a defective knife I believe that it eventually ends up at Spyderco either way. Not sure that's always the case. I ordered a...

Re: Bento Box Customer Service...

BBS has an interesting model. Knives don't have an expiration date or become obsolete. Often times Spydercos increase in value. So BBS is willing to sit on a smaller inventory for longer to get a higher selling price. This runs counter to most knife dealers who want to increase sales volumes. BBS al...

Re: Micarta Shaman 2nd Sprint Run

PD1 would be good. I think people would also be enthusasic about Rex45, K390 and 4V. Also a blue denim micarta would likely be equally popular.

Re: New Steel – Crucible S45VN

For a new Mule, I suggest a fixed blade modeled after the popular Spydiechef (which of course resembles a chef's knife). It would be kitchen capable as well as utility, hunting, etc. Its versatility would increase its usage and popularity.
So basically a small, stout chef's knife.

Re: Cutlery Shoppe Para 3 Exclusive restock

A few dropped in January and I bought a satin for $129.97. Seems like steady price increases. Then again it's only a bit more than the base model.
I don't see them as in stock now on the website.

If it's stainless I wouldn't worry about it. Otherwise using a desiccant in Zip lock or airtight container is a wise precaution.
