Re: The Watu, the lil' Nilakka, and why thin grinds matter.

I think a lot of knife users are rough or careless with their knives. I'm not and I prefer thinner grinds.

Re: Canis in black DLC --any interest?

What sprints/exclusives have come from Taichung? All I can think of is the PPT.

Re: The heinous Canis

For the anal retentive, does this model have any side to side play than cannot be tightened out like some other models on bushing systems? It can often be felt easily with the lock disengaged. Thank you.

At the least BHQ could do a Jade M4 version.

Wait, lets ask some important questions here. Can dealers order exclusives of discontinued models?
Yes they can with some limitations I'm sure. The semi-recent BHQ Lum Tanto Jade Hap40 comes to mind.

I really like the blade shape. The swedge looks great. When a satin version is released I'll probably get one.

Re: Exclusives?

A copper PM2 and a tanto PM2 are two very different things. I don't see why a tanto PM2 wouldn't have broad appeal. It can also be sold in a variety of blade steels and scale options even including...copper.
If BHQ gets to sell every tanto PM2, they were handed a golden ticket.

More are coming per BHQ. They didn't limit the number you can buy which was a clue.

Re: Exclusives?

I'm thinking BHQ has the rights to this specific Tanto/Steel/Finish/Color combo, but Spyderco or any other dealer could do a Tanto PM2 in another combo. BHQ was just the first to do the Tanto shape and pushed for it and put up the $ to make it happen. I doubt Spyderco would give them exclusive righ...

I wasn't under the impression that BHQ had exclusive rights to the tanto blade shape. Do they?
Great question! I clearly think the answer is yes, exclusive rights to the PM2 tanto but I would love to hear more from Spyderco or BHQ.

As a Canadian the only issue I have with the Blade HQ exclusives is the transit time. Most of the USA had their M4 Dodo or Copper PM2 and they were flipping them while my knives seemed to be on a postal mule plodding across the Rockies headed North.
