Needs a fully straight spine otherwise it’s more of a harpoon shape without a swedge.

I've taken some to the belt sander too although I prefer doing that with other brands that I consider more disposable.

I like it as is without jimping. I'm guessing the comp lock version is much more popular and will get an exclusive run at BHQ.

Name reminds me of the CRKT Jumbones which came out this year. I'd rather have a Yojumbo!

Re: AFI Performance Flash Batch

The Centofante has a fairly shallow hollow grind. I took mine to a diamond stone and turned it into a flat grind. It's nearly zero ground and the edge was easily damaged. Chipping and rolling. After a few sharpenings it's better. The geometry was too aggressive. That said, I don't think it's a very ...

Re: a painful lesson relearned

USPS has been very reliable in my experience. I've done a lot of knife buying and selling as a hobbyist. I've had a couple packages that were delivered to neighbors by mistake. The neighbors brought them over. Only one was never delivered out of hundreds.

Re: Which upcoming model is keeping you up at night in anticipation??

It's the upcoming model that I don't know about! The unknown unknown. The black swan of Spyderco releases. A sprint run of a long discontinued classic like the Michael Walker for example.

Re: Native Chief first and ongoing impressions thread

Just got mine. First impression is that it's very nice, just as I expected from the photos and commentary. Pivot came a touch loose but was easily snugged up. There is now zero blade play in any direction. I look forward to carrying it.

Re: Have recent releases confused you?

The S90V Shaman and Chief are available from reputable dealers on eBay and elsewhere right now for MAP prices.
The Maxamet PM2 has a lot of pent up demand and FOMO behind it. It'll restock and the market will settle I believe.

Re: Sun and Moon Chaparall :O !!!

I would rather have polished G10 or micarta, with G10 bolsters in a different color. Bone, done right, would be cool, too. Bone would need to be stabilized in some fashion, I would think, in order to make it thin enough. That sounds good too. There's a product I saw on a knife recenty - carbon fibe...
