Whoa! That's a huge bombshell about the original Manix lockbacks! Those are my all-time favorite designs! Thanks Sal, I'd love to see the return of both the original full size Manix and the Mini Manix.

When I first got mine, it was just as you described yours. I'd recommend a little Tuff-Glide; a drop or two placed right along the area where the detent ball contacts the tang. This smoothed mine out nicely. Also, if the threadlocker is too tight on the pivot, use a hair dryer or any other heat sour...

Heck yeah. My Sage 2 is one of my favorites; just wish it was made in Golden.

I would like one, but not as a replacement to the current Stretch. The drop point blade shape is what makes it unique, IMO. So make the straight-spine version a new model or an addition to the Stretch line.

I've always wanted a P'Kal but I can't justify the relatively high price for a knife that would be a dedicated SD only. I've handled one before, and while it feels great in the hand for reverse grip edge in, it's not very well suited to other utility tasks. So I guess I'm saying I would like one, bu...

I've had two S90V Para 2's. The first one had a lock so sticky that it was nearly impossible to operate. Spyderco customer service replaced it for me. The second one (the replacement) was good when I first got it, but now it has a sticky lockbar. Somehow, breaking it in has had a negative effect. Al...

Just to clarify, I believe the exclusive run from Bento Box Shop is CPM M4 steel. The sprint run should be available to all dealers, it's steel is CTS B75P, which is similar to BG-42 in composition, but is made from the powder metallurgy process.

I like my Mini Manixes, but think they're too heavy and bulky, compared to the new Manix 2. I understand why one would prefer the Mini Manix to the regular production Manix 2, but a flat ground Manix 2 with skeletonized liners beats the Mini Manix IMHO. Mine feels quite light, especially for its si...

Bring back the Mini Manix

For the longest time I was a Manix 2 fan. However, as my Spyderco experience grows, and having just received a Mini Manix (which I paid an arm and a leg for) I can say how wrong I was. I now believe it is a better knife than the M2 in every way, especially the lock. I would love to see it brought ba...

I would buy one for sure if it was made in Taiwan with a better steel than the Chinese steel, but still a good value steel like 154CM or 12C27.

I'll offer a different perspective. I like back locks the best because of their construction. I've owned every type of lock Spyderco makes (except the bolt action Sage) and I've taken them all apart to analyze their function. In my experience, the back lock offers the most solid and reliable constru...

The knife I would like to see made more than anything would be a 3.5" original Manix. Keep all the features that made the Manix a classic but shorten the blade a little to make it legal where I live.

It reminds me of the Rock Salt. The blade and handle shape are similar. I wish it had a thick back lock like the Chinook or original Manix. I don't understand why people prefer an RIL for a hard use knife. The lock is only as strong as its weakest point, which is the cutout on the RIL. I was under t...

Isn't this what the Ed Schempp Tuff supposed to be? Not a Striber collaboration obviously, but it's being designed to withstand the hardest conditions. I believe it has all those features you're looking for in a potential Strider collaboration.

I put a patina on my Super Blue Mule by cutting apples. I also put a patina on a D2 blade using mustard. The mustard smelled pretty horrible as it was reacting. The apples on the other hand were not too bad.
