Re: Looking for a knife for work...

What are you using now? Right now I have these cheap Victorinox plastic handled knives, as well as some other brand. The main issue is that other people use them, so the edges are wavy and not maintained well. I'll definitely check out the Santoku, it looks nice, although plastic handles turn me of...

Re: Looking for a knife for work...

I have the 4" and 6" Spyderco kitchen knives in serrated and plain edge. The MBS-26 steel is terrific and the blades are extremely thin. My knowledge of high-end kitchen knives is minimal bordering on nonexistent but these "cheap" Spydies are the best kitchen knives I've ever us...

Looking for a knife for work...

Hello folks! I am an avid Spyderco fan, and I actually haven't posted here in quite a long time, but I know most of the folks here are very level-headed, and I need some advice. At work, all of our knives are dull and poorly maintained, so I'm planning on purchasing a nice knife or two, as well as a...

I always thought that the point of the S was more ceremonial. In other words, it looks pretty, but isn't a knife you would really use hard. I love the look of the holed blade, because it's so pretty and delicate looking. It's not a knife I would ever use in my job, but I would show it off to my frie...

Keep in mind that most knives are available at significantly under MSRP to the extent that you will end up severely overestimating the total cost. The total MSRP is probably 1.5x what it would cost to buy the knives if you poke around for good deals. Just my experience with the MSRP's on these guys.

Snagged a Benchmade 380 for $36, but the tip is folded

I went to a REI "attic sale" where we were allowed 10 minutes to find 5 clearance items that were returned. One item i found was a Benchmade 380 barrage for only $36... But the tag said that the returner reported there was a "nick near point of blade". It is quite clear that they...

Maybe you shouldn't link a video that advertises a company that has sold Spyderco knockoffs. It's really not about the company, it's just about a funny video. Honestly i understand the concept you are going for, but I will go on a limb here to say that nobody in their right mind believes that i am ...

Interesting Asian Ceramic Knife Commercial

This is a very interesting video/infomercial about some sort of asian ceramic knives. I'm incredibly impressed by how sharp they got them, but the voice commentating is a bit strange. The things they did with these blades is crazy, but I love when they say things like "the knife is so sharp, so...

New Millie and Update on Stuff

Hello everyone, it's been quite a long time since i've visited the forums, and i sure miss some of the interesting conversations that went on. Over the time that i was gone, i got a new Military with G10 handles and black ffg flade... And it is one of the most beautiful knives i've ever seen! It rea...

also, this is a repeat topic post. Would you mind deleting the other thread?

Its just a way to get a cheap "wave" on a knife so that with the proper carry style, as you pull the knife out, it instantly deploys.

LOL @ $11k for a bunch of knives. I love'em but c'mon that's insane. It's a good thing 1) i don't buy at MSRP and 2) i don't keep a running total on what i've spent on knives or i might have trouble sleeping. Yeah, just to quickly average that out on his "estimate"... He said there are 80...

pics would be extremely useful right about now if you're asking about price.

As far as worth it goes, it all depends on a collector. I'd pay up to $300 for a dodo, but that doesn't mean its worth it to someone else. If you like it for the price, than its worth it.

+1 to the dodo. That really is a beautiful knife.

However, sal did mention that he is designing and prototyping a Dodo 2 as we speak. I'm very excited for that, too.
