Re: Evolution of the Spyderco Yojimbo 2

I have had one for quite awhile, really enjoyed the video. I am going to order another for the left side as well. I also own the ronin, which is a great fixed blade.

sharpmaker to the rescue!

A friend of mine was over, then a few days later, my son, brought in a Benchmade knife that he found in my yard. I immediately recognized as my buddy's who has owned this knife some 20 odd years. Quick text that I had found it and he immediately calls me, said he has been tearing the house up for tw...

I have noticed the same thing on the corners of an older set of white stones that I have., I am expecting a jewelers loupe in the mail and plan to give them a careful look over. Mine feel almost like a gouge/nick that are very small.

Sharpmaker is awesome

Long time user, just yesterday, I was fooling around with a Case Large Stockman, that I use for a lot of my knife chores, noticed it had some drag problems on cutting open a mailer. Broke out the oldest of my two sharpmakers, and in no time, had that puppy razor sharp again. Thanks Sal, I am the guy...

Just opened the box on my new Yojimbo2

I also placed a pre-order with Cutlery Shoppe, then after about a week, I realized I wasn't comfortable going that route. So I canceled it, with no problem. Anyway, like a lot of you the initial excitement has worn off. I probably will still buy one, but not at inflated prices, when it finally does ...

that is what I do. I try to keep all of my knives at a certain level. The other day on vacation, I bent up the edge on my Ontario Rat 1, slicing potatoes on some kind of glass/ceramic cutting board. Anyway, I had to straghten the edge up with a diamond stone, then I finished up with the sharpmaker, ...

Manix 2 XL

came in today, thanks Cutlery Shoppe for the fast shipping. Anyway, this is the knife I have been looking for. It is what I wanted when I bought my two Manix 2. Probably will have to order a spare, but anyway it is in my pocket, where it is going to stay. Now if only the Yojimbo 2 would become avail...

I read an article by Michael Janich in which he stated that he used a little jewelers compound, scraped into the pivot and then added some oil and worked it some, creating a slurry. He then rinsed it out with hot soapy water and dried it and the lubed it.

Yes, I just ordered a Manix 2 xl myself, and I also had this one in the cart a couple of times. Here is why I bought it, 1. always hated that I missed out on the original Manix, as It was introduced before I got back into Spyderco 2. Love the Manix design and smooth opening 3. I am a large knife guy...
