Re: Completely Forgotten Spyderco Models: Your Favorites?

So many cool oldie spydies to choose from. But what I found out about some of my recent instagram posts, is that these are pretty unknown, on that platform at least.... and my current vintage favorite, the Blackhawk https://spydercollector.files.wordpress.com/2020/02/blackhawk_spyderco.jpg Help me ...

Re: I tried so hard...

Everyone ignore what I'm about to say: I've been carrying an inexpensive Chinese made Kershaw Natrix as a "self defense knife that I won't mind if I lose it or destroy it" and it's not a terrible knife. I carry it with gym shorts and it's pretty light and a liner/frame lock. I used to carry a G-10 U...

I'm glad that I got a sprint of the Calypso a while back.

Re: A question for Mr Glesser and Spyderco (Clipped Manbug)

I feel like the Manbug needs a small lanyard to enable you to hold onto the knife with all four fingers. I usually just let the ~1 inch long lanyard hang out of my "watch pocket" and use the lanyard to grab it.

Re: C-60 Ayoob Campaign: No I Won't Shut Up

Hey guys I'm sure I missed it but how does this knife compare size wise with the PM2? My credit card is waiting 😊 It's a good bit bigger especially in the handle. I don't have an Ayoob yet but I found this pic in a search. It's not the best for comparison but better than nothing. The blade is about...

I'd like to get a sprint. Maybe a Dark Green/S90V.

Re: Vacation Knives

I'm going in a couple of weeks. I've shifted my vacation carry to a cheaper knife, Kershaw Natrix for most. I think my dpx heat for back pocket or a zdp dragonfly. I take some Dragonfly Salts for swimming, a Manix 2 S110V lightweight for when I might need to cut more. In my travel back pack when I'm...

Re: Return shipping fee - cumbersome to apply from abroad

Something that might be off is: I don't know if $5 covers the shipping fees if Spyderco has to ship international. Sometimes the lowest shipping price can be more than that. I imagine some international customers would get stuck with a percentage import tax when it comes back to them. (I don't know ...

Re: Maybe small knives are not TOTALLY awful

I feel like a dragonfly would be enough for me 99% of the time.

The only time I'd want more is if I was cutting a lot of stuff or difficult to cut stuff.

I thought I had posted in this thread, guess not.

It was a good 10 years. It doesn't feel like it was long ago that you just started here. I guess I've been around for more than 10!

Time flies when you spend all your time being OCD about knives! :)

Re: CPM SPY27 | Edge Performance

Interesting! That initial report has me interested! I am a big fan of steels that have a more aggressive edge characteristic at any given grit. That’s actually why Cruwear is one of my favorites to sharpen. It’s not just that it “wants to get sharp” as you say, but it maintains its aggression even ...

Re: 3 Classics You Want To See As SPRINT RUNS

What ever happened to the Full Size Manix Lock back with Eric's lock improvements? S110V or S90V would be pretty sweet on that. Judging by how quickly the manix lock back was discontinued, I don't think they will be doing sprints or a bigger model. You're probably right. Do you know why? :p (It did...

Re: 3 Classics You Want To See As SPRINT RUNS

Ayoob and Calypso would be nice in K390. Hopefully we can get the clip on the Ayoob to be mounted closer to the end of the handle. That was my major gripe on the last sprint. What ever happened to the Full Size Manix Lock back with Eric's lock improvements? S110V or S90V would be pretty sweet on that.

Re: d2 the china line...?

It's hard to believe that none of the Chinese steel companies make a higher wear resistant steel. I mean, the knife market is kind of small for the steel companies. Aren't the better steels made for production in factories? Cutting massive amounts of paper or plastic? One of the steels I used to rea...

Time travelling?! lol, interesting choice of words. A lot of business owners have a lot of their time used up by work. I imagine Sal is a very busy guy! Maybe see if you can get a copy of "The Spyderco Story" book. The company was named after a high performance series of cars. I know he's mentioned ...
