Re: Vivi's Others

I was a big fan of ESEE for a while but I don't know the last time I reached for one. I like the SRK handle a lot more than my ESEE 4's, and have come to prefer street beats to izula 2's.

I hear you.

I keep an ESEE-5 in the door of my car.
When I am going to take a trip to a local place with ...

Re: Vivi's Others

You have some nice stuff, Vivi.

I used to get into some ESEE stuff.
I have an Ontario Rat3 in D2, ESEE-3 stainless, ESEE-6, ESEE-5 in my car and a Junglas.
I got a couple of Gibson Pinches and darn it those things are tiny. About Ladybug size.

Re: Fellow Macgyver fans?

I like the actors on the new one.

Did you guys ever watch Scorpion? I think my android TV has a channel that plays it a lot. Seems pretty similar and about as cheesy.

Re: Flashlights

I was into flashlights before I got into knives.

I don't even know anymore. Maybe I'm in the ballpark of 100 lights and 100 knives or something.

I probably carried a HDS every day for 8 years. Lately I don't carry a light unless I think I'll need it. I keep enough lights scattered around so I can ...

Guess which one is the "other". I've had this and I've been carrying it in my back pocket for a couple of weeks and I've been relatively impressed.

Take this free test: https://www.truity.com/test/type-finder-personality-test-new-std

It's not as good as the full test, but gives an indication. Take it at least twice. Be as gut honest as possible.

Whoa, I don't want to be testing for new STDs. :P (That's a suspicious link. :) )

The test I ...

Re: Seki SPY27 In Stock

I would like one. I have a S90V, S30V and a couple of ZDP versions of the Delica. It's going to be tough to justify $120.

Maybe I can trade towards one.

I don't see anything that looks fake. They might be throwing shade.

Where did you buy it from? If you got it from a legit dealer, I would say there is zero question.

Re: Pocket clip lanyard solution

I guess I don't understand that well.

You create the problem of making it difficult to get out of your pocket by putting a low ride clip on the knife, then you solve the problem you created by putting a lanyard on it?

I understand that some people think they like low ride clips even with the ...

Re: Got the original Paramilitary yesterday...and it was free!

I had a CPM D2 Para 1 for a while. It would be nice to have a sprint in something similar to test out or if there is a modern steel that's similar to CPM D2, that could be good, too.

I like that idea. I carried and used the **** out of a CPMD2 Military for 6 years, and have nothing but good ...

Re: Manix Monday

Question for the Manix Monday brain trust:
Has there ever been talk of a Manix trainer? I haven’t found anything, but it seems like it must have been discussed at some point?

I haven't heard any chatter, but the Manix is sort of similar to a Yojimbo 2 or a Delica in terms of getting it out of ...

Re: The Pain of Parting with Knives

I don't have many rules, but, top three:

1) Never eat anything bigger than my head.
2) Never sell a bass guitar.
3) Never sell a Spyderco knife.

When I was a wee lad of only 19 years old I was an aspiring bass player and had just saved up and bought a very nice woodgrain 5 string ...

I have a SPY27. It has skeletonized liners.

Thank you!
And I 100% agree, they all should have them at this point.

All the others, we know about, I have/have had MANY Manix in my day.
I wonder how much the price would increase for the base model to have skeletonized liners.

The only recent one I can think of is the CruCarta model. For some reason they use solid liners on that, which is why it's so heavy.
I never had a CruCarta one. Thanks for that info.

It might be because of the Micarta. Didn't the Calypso Micarta warp?

I was digging around my old photos and found this picture of my collection from 2012. There’s lots here I wouldn’t carry these days on account of having wrong-handed locks for me, but there’s a lot here too that I wish I still had.

Re: SPY27 g10 Manix 2 question

I have owned maybe 10 or 12 sprint run Manix 2's. I have never seen a sprint run or exclusive Manix 2 that had solid liners.

The only ones I've seen with solid liners have been standard production runs with the standard steel. I don't think I've ever owned a S30V version that wasn't a sprint, so my ...

Re: Thoughts to share on a foundry

My first thought was that the money would be the problem. We could probably crowdsource the money.

Then I thought, I couldn't do something like this, mainly because I don't have the time and it's not my type of business.

I think it would be tough to find someone to run it and run it well. It's the ...
