Ah...but that's the beauty. Mine IS a plane edge. I really like this knife, and hopefully I can get it fixed.

No, unfortunately, mine is the older Japanese-made version with the AUS-8 blade. The knife has performed superbly, and is one of the fastest opeing knives I own. As I understand it, they actually changed some of the structural and functional components of the newer Viele.

Never have, never will.

I've carried a knife since I was probably 12. I carried a knife to work. I carried a knife to school. I still carry at least one, often two knives. (Back in the day when it wasn't illeagal to carry a knife to school....you just couldn't carry an ILLEAGAL knife)

First let me say that this has been one of the most enjoyable knives I've ever owned.



Unfortunately, the design of the knife has the clip secured only to the micarta scale. The screws don't even go through to the liner. This proved to be especially unfortunate for me when a swinging door caught ...
