Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.

Sal,

Thanks for the info. I suppose that it would be a pretty niche item. I do have a G. Sakai Sabi Knife 4 in H1. It's a Deba style fixed blade that I use as a camp kitchen knife.

I have a large Sashimi knife in H1 ground that way.

Sal, any chance these are available to us mere mortals?

In the new episode of Chicago PD(S10E03) Halstead uses a Spyderco in a fight. I can't tell which model it is for sure but it kinda looked like a PM2 or a Delica

Re: 2022 Spyderco Forum Calendar Contest

I chose the Spyderco Pacific Salt (C91PBK) again because I still love this knife. I've carried Pacific Salts since 2006 and they have never let me down. I carry one in my pocket, I have one in my car and I even keep one in the shower! This picture is from the same set as my submission from last year...

Re: Fairly comprehensive list of Spyderos in movies, tv shows, etc

Also in the 2008-2010 era there was a show on Animal Planet and I can't think of the name of it off top of my head. But it was about a guy who was a lot like Steve Irwin and handled dangerous animals and he always had some type of Spyderco Hawkbill with him. That sounds like Wild Recon with Donald ...

Re: Z-Cut blade discoloration

Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions! I think you guys are probably on the right track and it's just one or a combination of the various factors; heat, oil, salt, etc. First, you're right handed, or you were cutting corn right handed. These are oxidation colors/patina but boiling water for corn ...

What happens when you wipe it with mineral oil or alchohol?

I tried both and neither had any effect.

I'll give it a try. The only thing I did was hand wash it with regular dish detergent.

Z-Cut blade discoloration

Has anyone else run into a similar issue with the Z-Cut? I was cutting the kernels off 6 ears of corn. The corn had been off the boil for at least a few minutes and I was using tongs to hold it. I'm not sure if this could have affected the heat treat or if I just heat anodized the blade. http://i.im...
